Either way I always have a grudge against elves regardless. They always seem to be used as a lecturing tool against humanity; either as the perfect Mary-Sue people that we should be ashamed of ourselves for not measuring up, or as the oppressed special snowflakes that humanity abuses because we suck. The elves I only really enjoy are the jerks we're supposed to hate (and I'm not talking about D&D dark elves), more like the Thalmor in the Elder Scrolls series.

Left: DAI elf. Right: actual human being.
Yup, that's sure what an undernourished guy or 13 yr old boy looks like.
Let's have him take off shirt to make sure.
Spoiler
you seem to want see things that arent there, those guys actually look quite big, and even more so in real life. There are males who look like the elves. but no adult male i know look like these scrawny weaklings, and showing these pictures of male models without taking into account how camera lenses and the distance of the camera has an impact on the picture is disingenuous at best. Youre also not taking into account how the game world is rendered differently from real life, the equivalent of the elf male in human form is a tiny scrawny malnourished boy. I did infact look up swimmers and here are more pictures of men who look like they could be fighters. its kind of fun seeing the scrawny lil guys getting upset and comparing themselves to models to feel better

I do hope the male elf has the same model, because I'll be fine with it. The Major problem is that it seems some outfits (mage outfits) make the arms look thinnier.
I think this week we might have a better view, since with EA early Access screenshots of elves pc in different armours and Skyhold outfits might pop out.

I saw a person who have similar arms of the male elf. He was at least 20. He was healthy (as far as I know).

i find it perplexing how you preachy, hippie "friends of the world" "lets all hold hands and sing kumbaya around a campfire" types are fine with these elves looking like they were raised in a concentration camp and even go on about how tragically "romantic" and "beautiful" it is *gag*.To be honest this isnt that big of a deal to me, im going make a gorgeous elf, either way, even if her body looks a tad bizarre and undernourished, the most important thing to me is the face. I feel sorry for the people hoping to play a male elf... thinking they would actually get to play an adult male, and not a 13 yr old boy who looks like he's been starved and tortured his entire life. Considering his complete lack of musculature, Its a surprise hes even able to stand up, let alone carry a large sword in his hands tbh. Yes im well aware that there are people who look this look.. or what little there is of it.
I wonder if it's possible for you to hold on to your own opinion without insulting the opinion of others.
Size of muscles is not a definitive indicator of strength. One such real example is chimps vs humans.
You don't like the elves, fine. No prob. Just knock it off with the insults.

me pointing out hypocrisy is insulting? thats great. I dont pretend to be miss "empathy" or miss "bein all progressive", but even i can see the elves look malnourished and sick. There is nothing beautiful or "tragically" romantic about that.

Insults highlighted for you, since you seem inept at grasping your tone.
Perhaps you'd also like to illuminate us all on what hypocrisy is being shown. It's hypocrisy to have a preference in visual aesthetics? What?

I agree. Compared to Solas and Sera's bodies, the PC looks out of proportion. They have big heads and necks with super skinny bodies.

Gee, I didn't realise calling skinny people disgusting was a-okay now. Nice.
Some people are just naturally very thin and are unable to build much muscle mass/body fat at all. It's not necessarily a sign of malnourishment/sickness.
And as been said before – elves aren't human, so why expect them to have similar proportions?

Because elves are considered humanoids in DA. So technically they should have human characteristics.

I wasn't refering to your post specifically, but yeah, some of the DA2 elves had rather... unfortunate facial designs.
But then again, so did a lot of the humans and dwarves, imo. Same with Origins.
