I don't recall that happening as I remember using a VPN for ME3 and I started playing at the earliest opportunity despite being in Ireland at the time.

Same and i def unlocked it as early as i could, had no problems.

Then the business at retail stores would go down.

Considering how digital distribution is kicking off, at least in the PC segment, the effective return would likely still be profitable. Also, anywhere I go, local retail stores hardly hold large quantities of games at any given moment. Large releases are mostly processed via pre-ordering and then getting a couple spare copies and after release, even popular games are present only in small numbers. I dare say that for the PC market, the physical retail business is not going to be significant for much longer.

Most retail business I see is in fact going for the console games. Could be just my local stores though, so don't quote me on that.

On the other hand, using VPN to buy the game cheaper from another country is against the TOS and is banable.

But if you actually go to those countries and buy the game from there, that's okay.

Here in Sweden we usually get the game delivered 1-2 days yearly. I'm getting it for PS4 so I'm hoping there's nothing hindering me to start playing it right away.

Anyone else notice that in Origin, the South Korean release date is now listed as November 19 at 2am? It was still listed as the 18th until a few days ago. Official DA website still says November 18.

Only for you it seems. Origin is telling me November 18, 01:00. In fact its releasing earlier from what it originally said which was November 18, 15:00

Follow-up question about using VPN to load DAI on the 17th/18th.
I have already pre-ordered the game in the UK, where I'm at. I intend to preload it on the 17th without VPN. Just then use VPN to load the game for the first time.

My questions are:

Does VPN affect Multiplayer in anyway? meaning, Will I still be able to connect to Multiplayer after I shut down VPN?

Will I have to use VPN everytime I start the game during the first 3 days or just the first time?

Will I have to stay connected to VPN while on multiplayer?

Sorry if there are too many questions for the one post lol, they are the only ones though :P

Thanks

I can't tell you how DAI will work, but ME3 was like this: you preloaded normally and used the VPN exactly once, to start your game up for the first time. At any time after that, you could play normally without using VPN. I have no knowledge of anything related to MP.

So I'm guessing that we can't unlock the game any earlier than possibly Nov. 17th with the VPN?

I remember I was able to unlock Dead Space 3 on Origin with a simple internet cable trick and changing date/time on my system, seems like that won't work now.
