Wii U is gonna sell more thanks to Smash Bros and Mario Kart. I'm just wondering if the game will be available on the Wii U sometimes in the future. I don't know too much about the cost of making the game vs the cost of porting the game, but the Wii's console sales is making a comeback. They sold 7 millions consoles and while not all of them will buy the game, a fraction of it should be able to cover the porting cost and may even make a profit.

It would probably not happen the wii u is a substantially different system.
EA stated that Wii used can run the Frostbite engine, and other big games like Batman and Call of Duty can port the game to the system, so I don't why a big company like EA with a lot of resources can't do that.

There is a port for ME3 for WiiU. I do think there might be a possibility if EA feels there would be a profit.

Wii U is a terrible system for 3rd party games. Or in other words, nothing sells except for Nintendo games. Hence i very much doubt they will spend resources for a port.

Bayonetta 2 is filled with boobs and ass. I don't think it's a kid game.

But yeah I am pretty sure EA's official stance on the Wii U is that it is dumb

Because they might decide to devote more time and money to other (arguably more important) things such as DLC/Expansions

Because there is very little incentive to do so. The Wii U has very little marketshare, plus its only slightly better on performance than the 360/PS3. This means they would have to spend a lot of money to port and then support for a console that might only sell a few thousand copies.
The Wii U is dying. As someone who has to maintain a Wii U for my handicapped brother-in-law, that doesn't surprise me. This last 'mandatory update' they did in Oct froze it up like a brick. I actually had to pull out his old Wii for him to play Legend of Zelda on. It still isn't fixed, and I will be damned if I buy any more Ninetendo products for him in the future.

Frostbite 3 hasn't been ported to the Wii U, so very unlikely.

Do we know how well Mass Effect 3 sold on Wii U? Granted, the console's install base was considerably fewer than now, but I can see EA bringing that up questioned about this possibility.
The chances aren't great. EA in general seems to have abandoned Wii U, and with third-parties games historically not doing great, at least compared to the competition, I can't imagine EA thinking a port is worth their time and money. The closest you might come is jumping onto DA Keep through the Wii U's web browser, unfortunately.

Not sure if serious.... ![]()
I remember a tweet from Halloween:
Let's port it to WiiU #ScaryStoriesIn5Words
Kidding aside I don't see them doing this, but then I was surprised when they did it with ME3.

The question is whether ea feels like it is profitable enough to release DA:I on Wii U.

A two years old port with no DLC support and lacks many features can't be set as a precedent for low sales. Also, I'm referring the EA statement saying that it's not impossible to make Frostbite works on Wii U not the Halloween post, seeing as more powerful engine being demoed on the Wii U, the possibility is there.

2 years?... um no, it was around 8 months, it released alongside the wii u's launch. No DLC? Wrong, for the first few months, no story based DLC was released because BW was working on the extended cut DLC, only mp DLC and a few weapon packs for SP were released during the first few months all of which the Wii u got.
As for your other post, how does SSB selling well prove that there's a market for 3rd party? What games have sold well on the Wii U (that don't feature Mario or zelda)? Mario and Zelda don't have a problem selling on Wii U, the problem is that almost every other game does.

Ok to get this out of the way, I own all three consoles the Wii U, Xbox One, and PS4 with that being said;
Sadly the facts are the Wii U has been out a year longer than the PS4 and Xbox One and have already been outsold. Nintendo has never had great third party support when it came to the Wii, people who buy it generally buy it for the first party games (Mario, Zelda, ect. Wii fitness and sports, Smash Bros ect..). Even when Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, and when the new Zelda comes out it still wont touch the numbers that the PS4 and to the lesser extent Xbox One is selling at.
Ultimately the Wii U is also not as powerful of a machine as the other two, and while EA has stated that it is possible that the Frostbite engine could work on the Wii U, it would take a lot of technical work to get it to do so, which ultimately isnt justifiable in both time and money.

The only thing that would get me to buy a WiiU would be a new Metroid game. I'd be all over it.
Dragon Age is best played where it belongs - on the PC.

It's not an exact figure for ME3 sales but page 15 gives you clues into total sales revenue of all EA games by platform for Q4 2012.

PS3 23%

The Wii U is a great system and has a much better library than anything on PS4/X1 at the moment (that'll probably have changed by next year though). But DAI will never come to it - different audiences and I'm not sure the Wii U could even support such a game fluently - it would be cool to see if they added any use to the Gamepad though...but it won't happen.
But anyone trashing the Wii U should think again. Playing Mario Kart 8 or Super Mario 3D World in 60fps is glorious, and you have so much more fun playing those with friends than anything else. Super Smash Bros will be the same.

Not exactly a fair comparison when they barely release any game on the Wii.
