N7 Mercenary Armor based on Zaeed Massani

n7xmini_zpsecc0a911.jpg

I must say I'm a bit surprised I haven't seen this one made yet. Not that I know of.

Well, I always loved Zaeed's armor; I just had to make something with it

Got my first version done, and released upon Nexus.

You can see the preview below that it's a bit different than the picture above. Made it quite matte to give it a darker feel.

Nice, I like it. Fits very well for a renegade Shep.

If you do a replacement mod, I'll go ahead and suggest tho replace the Cerberus armor (the one from the base game, not the DLCs). It's kind of silly to use it IMO and the collector armor, reckoner knight and Inferno already have a few options for mods but I never found a cool armor to replace the cerberus one.

Cheers and nice work!

Looks great. I would really like to see (when you are done with this one) some color variations of shoulder "thingy" :)

Thanks. I might replace the Cerberus one. Doesn't really make much difference to me since I rarely ever use the default armor sets.

Ty for the feedback. Any suggestions of what kind of colours you think might work on the shoulder piece?

This is still in development, but I figured I could see what other people think.

I've done a first test version of the diff giving it a bit of a N7 look. The spec, and norms are untouched and will look wrong in the screenshots for now.

Biggest problem I had was the enormous shoulder piece. It really is huge when viewed on Shepard with a gaping hole looking from the side. Was considering just removing the piece, but I did manage to get it a bit smaller. Now it doesn't annoy me so much anymore :P

Zaeed's helmet is also missing. It does exist on the MP character, but I don't know if I'll be able to port it from there since it's part of the entire armor.

Still thinking about modding the colours a bit more. I like the overall black with a hint of white. Then perhaps add some red to give it a tad bit more N7 feel.

Let me know what you think, suggestions, whatever. My modding skills are not that great; just basic stuff I can do.

Wow. It's actually better than the original. That huge pauldron and exposed biceps looked really out of place. It's even vacuum-sealed now! (assuming there's a proper helmet to go with it)

The single biggest immersion-breaking flaw of ME2 was the squadmates' ability to withstand all sorts of lethally hazardous environments with a ridiculous lack of basic protection. If you do a spacewalk without a sealed hardsuit, vacuum exposure will give you the worst explosive diarrhea in human history, among other things.

It's certainly possible. But the shoulder piece needs to be connected to the right boneparts (I think) otherwise it'll just end up hanging around in the air, Unfortunately I have no idea how to do that.

Yep. It's great wearing a face mask that doesn't even cover the eyes, and when you examine it closely you can see they tend to be a bit off of the actual face, meaning that it doesn't even cover the nose or mouth :D
