PM sent with link to a zip with all the SoL images in higher resolution. Forgot to mention in the PM - I also included the final one, which I haven't posted anywhere online yet. It's up to you whether you want to include that in the video yet or not. I don't mind if you choose to - I'm going to try and have that chapter finished by the end of the week/early next week anyway.

(Blame Olwaye for this folks. He's a bad, bad influence :P)

As prodded/requested, the next work explores some rather... Interesting uses of magic outside of combat. Especially Primal spell combinations. :o

Picture shows no full nudity, but is suggestive. Probably not good to see at work if you have an uptight boss. ;)

Click on the preview to view the image.

If you're confused/curious about his orange/red hand, Legam's controlling a fire spell at low heat so there's no actual flame. It just makes his fingertips hot, heh. :bandit:

And now, I'm off to bed! -_-

I had never considered using "Primal Magic" in that way...

 I imagine it took quite a while for her to corrupt him like this - at least a year or two. Besides, I don't think he minds being a little bolder in certain situations... ;)

(On another note, I just wanted to say I have a t-shirt with the exact same phrase as your signature. Meddling with dragons is not a good idea...)

Yes, yes you are. :P;)

Mrn. Got to work on that commission more - it's at the mid/late stages now. Still want to do the other fan art ideas afterwards. Still not sure which will be next. Maybe the dancing. Thoughts, anyone?

Decided to go with writing the last SoL chapter instead. Going slow, so I took a quick break to doodle something - a dwarf character concept. However, we never see dwarf children in DA:O, so I decided to attempt him in kiddo format:

He doesn't have a name yet.

Now that I notice, i'm glad you gave Legam body hair. Too many people like to draw their semi (or not so semi) naked characters with no body hair.

Are you referring to the last Legam picture, or waaaay back when I first drew him shirtless with the "beer" gut?

Eh, either way - most men have at least SOME body hair unless they wax. Idealized, hairless bodies are just a tad unrealistic, methinks. Trying to avoid making Legam into a Gary Sue, body builder type so common with fan art/fiction characters where it doesn't fit.

Work is coming along at a pretty steady pace now. I might actually finish before going to bed. Here's a bit of a snippet of what I've got so far to tease you guys:

~*~*~

Though he formally left the order many, many years ago, Legam chose to carry out the Grey Warden tradition and venture into the Deep Roads to fight darkspawn until his final breath. He hated that his death must come so violently, but it felt preferable to slowly going mad or… Worse. Legam shivered, brushing aside such musings. Besides, at least by battling the darkspawn he did something helpful in his final moments. Better than wasting away in a bed somewhere.

Legam’s lips pulled down into a contemplative frown. His other worry concerned his family. They knew all too well his Calling would come one day, but not when. Unable to cause them duress, Legam kept his ailing health secret.

Leliana knew, regardless.

His wife could always read his unspoken language – his eyes, breath, body movements – as clearly as any tome. She never said anything, but he could tell. Legam could interpret her signals just as well as she did his. Every kiss, every hug, every greeting, every pause… They all held an undercurrent of knowing trepidation, of barely concealed sorrow. She knew his time drew near. Though they knew long before they even became lovers his fate as a Grey Warden, neither could bring themselves to approach the subject now that it drew so near.

~*~*~

Aaaangggssst.... :o

Yup, i'm referring to both the one with the beer belly and the most recent NSFW one (the hair on the arm). It's good to see.

Oh, and nice fanfic tease.

He's also got chest and arm hair in the other NSFW piece, though the arm hair can be hard to see due to the lighting/shading of it.

Thanks. :) I got stuck again later, so I won't be finishing it tonight. I did manage to write several pages though, and found a good stopping point for the night. Maybe I'll be able to finish in the afternoon.

Gah, so close to finishing the last SoL chapter. I need to hoof it... Probably can wrap it up in about a page or two... Hrm.

Here's another teaser:

~*~*~

Forcing himself to keep his eyes open, Legam scanned the caverns. Further away, another hurlock began charging. He might be able to freeze it before it got too close, but… The mage squinted, peering beyond the rushing darkspawn. Was that a genlock? Yes, he believed it was. But was it an emissary, an alpha, or perhaps a –

An arrow thudded into his chest, too low for his heart and too shallow to pierce his lungs – but deep and painful all the same.

Sod it. An archer. Legam stumbled again, barely keeping his feet steady. His eyesight wavering once more, he clenched his teeth and focused on the genlock. Gathering the final vestiges of willpower, the mage fired one last spell. A glowing green, ethereal fist manifested from his fingertips, flying past the oncoming hurlock and slamming into the genlock. The magical stone fist knocked the darkspawn on to its back.

Grasping his wounded belly once again, Legam fell to one knee, his staff’s support the only thing preventing him from collapsing completely. The Rivaini felt blood fill his mouth and he coughed, pain shooting through his body when the action disturbed his injuries. Warm, coppery liquid seeped past his lips. Slowly raising his head, Legam saw the hurlock closing the last few yards between them, axe at the ready.

This was it, the end of it all. He had no energy to block the oncoming blow, let alone the power to conjure another spell. Still, he refused to die indignantly. Legam met the darkspawn’s eyes, glowering defiantly even as the hurlock raised its axe to strike.

Thank you. :D The last few ones (with the NSFW and Jowan) are actually using a coloring technique that's pretty new and experimental for me.

Hi.

So, yeah, I missed a lot. Sorry, but I've been busy with other things. Like reading David Gaider's books. I'll probably be more active and actually, y'know, WRITE SOMETHING over on my own topic.

Also, I missed your twentieth birthday NOOOOOO! *Insert Taiyama Surana-style "I'm sorry" here* Happy belated birthday, at least.

It's okay. College, reading... I understand. :D

I actually JUST finished writing the last SoL chapter. I'm going to proofread it, then post it. Stick around for a bit and it'll be up soon.

Ahaha. xD; No, you didn't miss it. I'm twenty-three as of December. It was my little brother who just had the twentieth birthday. :B

Pfft, suits me for speed-reading. Sorry. I was actually thinking "Wow, she's younger than me by a bit? Damn, I thought she graduated college--she must be some kind of phenom."

Good to hear, I'll stick around a bit before going to bed. I must point out that whenever you say "SoL" my first thought is "Sh** out of luck" and not "Seasons of Love". Unfortunate acronym there, eh?

 Hardly. Smart enough to easily slide through grade school with a high-B average without really trying (save for math... I suck at numbers), but I'm nowhere near smart/motivated enough to pull off a college degree by age 20.

Speaking of degrees... I FINALLY got my diploma in the mail on Monday. Stupid school sent it to the wrong address. Sigh. Now I have a piece of paper that proves I can draw. xD

... Bahahaha. That is an unfortunate acronym, but oh well. :o

Here it is. I'm such a dork, it made me sad to write the last parts of this. Probably didn't help that I was listening to Leliana's Song on loop while doing so. Hm.

I hate how Leliana came out in that drawing. Probably because I've evolved how I draw them since I completed that image, and I do her hair a LOT better now. :pinched:

Do you (and this is directed at anyone reading/following this thread) think I should also make a forum topic for this series? That's what most people do for fanfiction on here, and I'm wondering if perhaps just linking to my blog on this topic hides it too much from the average forum goer. Might get more exposure in its own topic, but I also don't want to spam the forums with my stuff.

Thoughts?

Awesome! Yay for vital pieces of paper! I'm currently working on my piece of paper that says I know Psychology and have a minor in Economics, even though since I belong to the Austrian School of Economics I disagree with many of the assumptions of mainstream economic thought taught in class. Specifically, I find all the graphs and math retarded. I agree with the Austrians that you can't mathematicize (if that's a word) the choices of people. Sure, it's useful in Macroeconomic (or national/international, overall) study but not in Microeconomic study (individual person or firm study).

Ah, sorry, I'm ranting. I'm just kind of miffed about that, ignore me.
