Also in regards to me and being numerically inept, somehow I managed to teach myself basic PHP and I can edit certain functions in Javascript... I have no idea how, though.

I will read and give my feedback and Legam last stand later today, I am off to a funeral (kind of funny the irony).

Edit: Holy cow, I just realized that you posted the last chapter of SoL right before I posted. Wow. I'll be sure to read it tomorrow after class.

My condolences, though.

Thanks, it is actually a good thing, this person is free at last after 6 years of wanting to die, and the rest of us can carry on with our lives without fear for hers.
So I just read your last instalment on Maker's breath, well it is as good as all the rest, as always your style is very good and clear.
This is a fitting end for Legam, he had his fight but can die peacefully with his love at his side, heroic and sappy til his last breath
And it ends with a song, the musician in me like that very much.
You are a very good storyteller.

I suppose that's a relief in a way then. The last/only funeral I went to was my grandfather's, but he'd been sick for a long time, so it was good to know he wasn't in pain anymore.
Yup, yup. Legam couldn't die any other way than without some sap. xD
I always envisioned Leliana singing In Uthenera near Legam's death. It just felt fitting for several reasons - she's a bard, and it's a song of lament/mourning... Not to mention the significance it held personally for Legam.
To paraphrase Leliana, "[Thank you], I try."
Edit: You may also be happy to know that listening to Judas Priest's "Angel" helped me a lot while writing it. I kept looping between it and Leliana's Song when writing the ending.

Out of curiosity, think you're gonna be doing any more fanfiction soon or will you stick with fanart for a while? I'm not partial either way, just curious.

All right, I read the last chapter ofSh** Out of LuckSeasons of Love and I pretty much have to agree with what all the others have said. A sappy ending is totally appropriate for Legam and the Leliana singing In Uthenara was a magnificent touch. Wish I'D thought of that.![]()

Honestly, I thought of the In Uthenera idea almost right away when she started singing it to Legam the second playthrough around in DA (that was about the time I got the idea for the fiction/art series).
Fan art, most likely. I hadn't written fanfiction in almost a decade when I started SoL, and while I love writing, I enjoy drawing more/ideas come easier to me for illustrative format. I wouldn't say I'll never do any more fanfiction, but it really depends if another idea hits me. If it does, chances are they'll be short drabbles like the Jowan one, rather than another 30,000+ word beast. I have a few ideas in my head actually (like an elaboration on Legam and Leliana finding dwarf!Jowan), but they're not formed enough to really do anything with them.
As for fan art ideas that I could start doing any moment if I wanted... I have at least 5 or 6. In fact, I might start one tonight if I finish this commission early enough.

The acronym is especially humorous considering the last chapter dealt with Legam's death. He truly IS sh** out of luck by that point, hurr hurr. :B
Poor, poor Legam. We make light of his suffering.

S*** out of Luck, it seems like it's the perfect sum up of a Grey Warden life.
Oh hell! if I ever got a minute I will write an unoficial anthem of the GW and call it S*** out of Luck

Was going to try and finish my next fan art, but it's late/early and I'm too tired. So, I'll post a WIP:

As I said for this on deviantART:
Background's supposed to be some sort of blurry crowd at a formal party or something? I dunno, it's a bit meh. There's some other things off too, but I like this nonetheless.
I imagine this would be at some sort of formal celebration/festival/whatever a few years after the Blight ends. I'm sure Leliana's happy for the chance to dress up, though I suck at rendering fancy clothes. Forgive me, you awesome Orlesian bard. xD;
Also, words are lyrics from "Ma Belle Evangeline" from Disney's Princess and the Frog. Yes, I am a Disney fan and I loved that movie. So much I saw it three times in one weekend.

I really liked that movie too. Can't wait for it to come out on DVD. The little firefly or lightning bug (whichever he was called on the movie) was the best.......well the bug and the Zevran-sounding frog prince, hehe.

Thank you.
Jim Cummings did the voice of Ray - the firefly. He also does a TON of voicework in general, including for Bioware. He was Minsc and Gorion in Baldur's Gate, and in Dragon Age he did a few voices... One of them was the grouchy old scholar in the human noble origin story. XD

But the fanart itself reminds me to a typical 17th/18th century French dance ball in the King's Palace.

I did look at some French and English formal attire from around those periods/a bit earlier, so that's not too far off for feeling.
In addition to fluff, I needed to do some more bawdy humor to brighten my mood after finishing Seasons of Love. Click the image to view full size:

I like it when you do "buy one get one free", especially when you get one fluffy and one naughty. "Southern exploration"

D'aw, thank you. I'm also going to assume I didn't screw up the small amount of French in there, Mr. Parisian? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wink.png[/smilie] I borrowed the lyrics, but I had to go by ear and try to remember how to spell it from what little I learned of French back in middle school.Olwaye wrote...
Yay ! Great dancing scene, they look so good in formal dress. Nice colors in the background too make the picture very much alive.

)
xD As I've said before, I enjoy bawdy humor. As for the ears, I've actually joked with an old friend about them in that connontation before, so when I was looking through my list of fan art ideas to draw (yes, I made a list) and decided I wanted something humorous, our old conversations came to mind. xD
Stick around - before I go to bed, I'm going to have another caption gag up.
Edit: Ninja'd by Reuben!

Thank you. :3 Before DA:O came out, I had made Legam in the CC with the intent of running through my second or third playthrough with him and to romance Leliana, because the idea of an ex-sister and a mage amused me. I hadn't seen a lot of Leliana with my first Warden, so I wasn't too enthused about doing her romance. Maker, am I glad playing Legam with her changed that viewpoint fast. <3
I've been getting a lot of compliments on facial expressions lately... Which makes me a happy artist, as I try to go for emotive. Thank you.

Nice caption.
Ah Legam, you would not recognise a hint even if it bites you on the arse!
Leliana sure had to work hard to bring him to the naughty use of magic situation.
Right good
