Twelfth one base colored. Now I can move on to shading/backgrounds... Tomorrow. For now, I should get some sleep.

... Okay, I lied. I couldn't resist coloring the first one, especially since I didn't have to do much to the background other than fix the hill borders and move the sun from the original. Man, I love the flexibility of digital art...


NOW I'm going to bed for reals.

I like the new series. The last one does look a bit awkward though, as if the face proportions aren't right.

I have a reference photo for the pose, and the face proportions match up. Perhaps it's the hands or just the general unusual angle? Maybe it'll look better once it's shaded.

Second one finished. I'll continue the others after I get back from job hunting:

Third one finished. Took a bit longer than the others. For the most part, I'm taking the old backgrounds from the original SOL images and tweaking them to make them fit the new line art rather than starting from scratch. Even with the old file background layers though, this one required some fiddling. Still, I like it.

Fourth finished. Pretty much completely redid the background, but it was an easy one to paint:


Edit: I'm going to start a topic for Seasons of Love on this forum with the newer art. Figure it's easier for people to find than my blog. I'll eventually take down the blog copies, once I've redone all the images.

Wow, they all look great.   I especially like the fourth one.  The background just looks so dream-like and draws your eyes to Legam and Leliana.

That would be a hazy forest background, heh. I prefer just suggesting it with colors rather than go into detail - for pretty much the reason you mentioned - bringing attention to Leliana and Legam.

xD These don't take that long to color, and while I'm unemployed, I have lots of time. I've probably spent 2-3 hours on each image, tops.

:innocent: I wondered how long it would take for people to catch on. The originals were like that too.

I wonder if I can finish all of these before I go to bed. Probably not, but you never know. I have lots of errands to run with my father tomorrow, so I won't be able to work as fast. I'll get as much done tonight as I can.



In other news, for those of you who have been following my health issues this week - the blood tests were normal, but I still have aches and pains near my right kidney/lower digestive tract, along with a few other annoying, but bearable issues. Dad did some research, and we're actually fairly certain we've found the source of the problem: I have almost all the non-gastrointestinal symptoms and medical history to indicate I probably have IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome); it's often hereditary and my father has it - and his started appearing around the age I'm at now.



Unfortunately, IBS is hard to narrow down for sure, and it's just one of those life things you have to deal with. Going to start taking a daily fiber pill for a few weeks to see if that helps me.

Ninth one done. I think that's all I'll do for tonight. Ah well, only three more to go. Even with the errands to run tomorrow, I might be able to finish those in the evening.

Tenth one done. I'm pretty proud of the stone wall and the tapestry, especially since I painted them from scratch (minus the rug pattern; used a public domain pattern and altered some style effects to make it blend):

Eleventh one done. This one was super easy to do, as the shading/background didn't require much. Hence the short time gap between this and the previous. Only one more to go...

Now I can do other arts! ... Though I'm not sure yet what I'll do. Gonna look back at my list of fan art "to dos" ... Probably should do a Rune Master comic page first, though.
