Drew Ahmed, my male Brosca rogue (assassin/duelist - he uses two hand axes). Two versions. First, a colored one:

Then, a black and white one with blood splatter, inspired by this Oghren portrait by Yenaquai:

Also, for comparison, some screencaps of Ahmed at Ostagar:

Now I want to draw more Legam and/or Legam/Leliana stuff, but I should really get back to writing... Argh. xD;

Is he still a real warrior if his class is rogue? ;)

I like the way DA:O dwarfs look, even without beards - which is hard to pull off. Not to mention, I tried making him with a beard first and it just felt... I dunno, wrong. Stubble suited a crime lord's thug far better in my mind. B)

EDIT: Now that I look at my color drawing of him, I'm reminded of old Looney Tunes and other cartoon caricatures of Al Capone. That's... Unintentionally appropriate. Whoo! Go me!

Finally got some more writing done and finished the next section of Chapter 11. Only about... Uh... 4-5 more sections to go. :pinched:

Here's another teaser, though I'm revealing less than last time:

Tapping his staff on the stone floor again, the Rivaini mage continued, “I know you dislike confrontation, Alistair – I still hate it, myself, but… I think with some important issues like these, you’re going to have to put your foot down. Letting Anora run things from day-to-day is fine; she’s a competent and, for the most part, a just ruler. But you’re on that throne too, and I didn’t just prop you up there half-arsed. You have a strong sense of justice and duty.” Legam narrowed his green eyes, “I expect you to put them to use more often than just the occasional mingling with the common folk. You’ve been on the throne for several years now. Make that familiarity and understanding count for something, dammit.”

Time to drive the point home while lightening the air with jest. Leliana cut in, “Best listen to your Warden Commander, else he might turn you into a toad.”

The two men chuckled, relaxing a little, “Mn. I’d rather not have that. I thought my fears of toad transformations were over when Morrigan snuck off.” Alistair rubbed his neck. “You’re right, you’re right… I need to dig my heels in more.”

~*~*~

Legam and Leliana are providing counsel for Alistair. I figure as trusted friends, they would make sure to keep in touch with him at least once in a while, and he'd still confide in them - especially Legam. And if you couldn't tell, no - Legam didn't harden Alistair. I know it's "better" to do so if you want to make him king, but it's not in Legam's character to tell him everyone is out for themselves - especially when Legam himself doesn't believe that. So, Ferelden has to deal with a "wussy" Alistair on the throne beside Anora. :P

Go ahead and beg - who knows, I might actually indulge! You already got the belly poke picture out of me.  :D And I still have at least one fan art in mind that I intend to do when I'm either done with this section, or the chapter - depending on how fast my writing goes.

Mind me asking, why Ahmed as a name for a dwarf?

Ha, I was wondering if anyone would ask that. The reason is simple, if a bit odd: Aimo (whose real life last name is Ahmed) drew this little diddy a while back. When I saw it, her Brosca/Leliana in it made me want to try that out too. When creating him, I couldn't think of a name... Then I realized it was sort of Aimo's fault I was making him in the first place, so I named him Ahmed in her honor.

You just have to keep trying; sometimes deviantART doesn't load large images properly. Only way around is to refresh the page and try again.

Pretty strange, I don't remember having a problem like this in DeviantArt before.

EDIT: Works now. :)

It happens to me often, actually. On different computers/places, so I know it's not just this PC.

Heh, told ya. :D

A little stuck on my writing, and it's because I can't decide on one thing I think you guys could help on. What location in the game do you think could have the most emotional impact for Leliana and a Warden who romanced her? Lothering (remains/rebuilt - where they first met), The Urn of Sacred Ashes (strong spiritual connotations), Top of Fort Drakon (greatest victory against the Blight), some random spot from one of their camp conversations? Somewhere else? I can't quite decide what would fit best for emotional attachment/symbolism. Ideas?

I take it having her sing to you is out of the question?

Well, in Legam's case, her singing the elven song is when he realized he was in love with her, so it might work. Her actually singing during this scene doesn't work though. That goes somewhere else, actually, and for different reasons.

I'm pretty stumped on that one. I mean there's the story about the tears being stars and then giving her the flower that reminds her of her mother that I thought were touching but I never did romance her.

Well, I meant the locations of events rather than the events themselves, necessarily. Or, I suppose, which event might mean the most, and therefore its location would be most significant? Hrm.
