They exist. They won't be featured presumably because they're a downgrade graphically and it will be hard for Bioware to explain how this one lower res/detail/quality shot is just the 360/PS3 version.

They should try. We already know we are on a weaker system... so show us what we are getting...less some fool claims "false advertising"

I'd prefer them showing us how DAI looks in older gen consoles. They can always put text PS3/XBOX360 in twitch video or under screenshot, it's up to people to misunderstand if they want to be so clueless <_<

But from marketing's POV this sort of mixup isn't worth the trouble. Look at the reaction to all the shots clearly labeled "alpha".

I doubt very many would mistake pictures labeled as PS3 or XBOX360 to new gen and if they do they have only their own stupidity to blame. I think overall it would be better for marketing. Unless they look so bad that people who own older gen consoles wouldn't buy the game when they see how it looks on their consoles XD I guess this is kinda buying pig in a poke.

They're not going to demonstrate last gen versions when they want to show off how well the game plays and how good it looks. They exist, but don't expect them to look or run like the versions you've been seeing in marketing.

this will be like it was with forza horizon 2, the last month showing everyday things about xOne version and all was awesome but there was no word about the x360 version. All the reviewers had the xOne version more than a week before the release and there was a lot of youtube videos about that but nothing about the x360. One week before release a x360 iso was leaked and we all discovered why they didnt show anything, it was a really poor version, worse than the Horizon 1.. So they wanted to sell the x360 version with the xOne info. I hope this to be different but i dont know what i have to think really. Lets pray to see any gameplay of a leaked iso in the next week or something

I really doubt BioWare would do something like that. But now you've got me paranoid. Thanks.

hahaha i doubt too, specially after watch videos of x360 and xOne graphic comparisons in youtube about NFS Rivals and BF4 which are built in Frostbite 3. Both games look really cool but the lack of info and the great fail with Horizon 2.. i just keep my mind open to all possibilities xD

It's marketing, pure and simple. They want to put their best foot forward, hence the majority of the footage coming from the PC version.

I'm actually pretty curious about this myself now....
I heard Lady Insanity/Ashe say that we, the ps3/xbox360 gamers, would be receiving the game with the same amount of content as the PS4/Xbox One users, but we wouldn't be receiving the same amount of free roam NPCs.

Spoiler

My worry now would be if it actually ran as smoothly as with a next-gen console....
I'd imagine that we'd still be receiving 720p though.

my worry is BW is not saying anything about this version neither forums, twitter, or official web xD we only know there will be the same content and there will be less npcs and worse graphics. I think the game will be 720p too and yeah, the game will run smoothly, we only dont know what will be the cost of getting it

Guys, do not worry about last gen versions. It will look fine.

If you want to see a comparison between xbox 360 and xbox one with the same engine (frostbite 3) - here's a video with the split screen comparison for Battlefield 4:

I honestly can't see that big of a difference. I see differences, but they don't appear crucial to me. I'm not dependent on graphics being at their very, very best down to the teensiest yoctometer of a pixel, though. If people are concerned about the tiny details then yeah you should definitely play on PS4 or XB1. But if you are watching this video like, "I barely see a difference. Big deal." then you'll be good on last gen.

Edit: to be honest the graphics on the xb1 version aren't that impressive considering what xb1 and ps4 graphics will be like in say 4 or 5 years. They are better than 360/ps3, yes. But not that much better (at this point) to warrant running out and buying a new console for one game (DAI).

As i said before, i watched that video and other of NFS Rivals which use frostbite 3 too, but are different game types and there isnt all about graphics. DAI will be a more saturated game than BF4 in terms of environment and are larger areas. In the other hand, they said they will cut the number of npcs, but the game will retain the same content so we dont know if only will be quest characters and vendors or there will be more. The number of enemies i guess will be lower and such many things. My worry is the lack of information from BW about this version cause yeah, the main versions are PC and Next-Gen but there will be 3 different versions, so i think some info about all of them could be good and not hide until release the worst version

They have to cut the number of NPC's only because if you look at the difference between what you see on your screen for Xb1 vs what you see on your screen for 360 - the shot for 360 isn't as wide. You know what I'm saying? It doesn't span out as far. Ergo, any npc's standing around in the Xb1/PS4 version, lingering in those "cut off" areas to the left and right won't be shown in the 360/PS3 version. They aren't npc's that would be giving you quests - they're just background filler. But if your version of the game doesn't even show that much of the background, then there's no need for those npc's to be standing around. Hence, cut them out and focus resources on more important things.

p.s. I do agree that I'd like to see the 360/ps3 versions. I'm just curious, really. It won't deter me from buying the game. Hell, I already bought the game. I just need to pick it up in a week.

BioWare won't be showing the PS360 versions. I think that's pretty clear by now.

However, someone somewhere is bound to make their own comparison closer to (or after) launch.

As long as it looks better than it's predecessor (not that I didn't like the way it looked because I did) I won't complain about how it looks on the PS3 (I don't have a 360). I just want to know if I'm going to be walking through ghost towns or watching loading screens for an excessive period of time.  I kind of get the impression from the articles I've read that if I'm not playing on next gen I'm not really playing it at all. I'm wary of paying $60-70 on a product when I don't have that much info on what it is that I'm actually buying.

Erm, how old is the build that video is based on? The inquisitor's arms still have that infamous placeholder texture.

yeah, there is a big room of improvement from DAO but good looking there is not the only thing we need in the game, i was playing DAO last month and at the moment that is one of the best games i have ever played, so i totally agree with dan de'lion, as i said, the frostbite engine looks very well on the PS360 in comparisons but the hardware has its limit so, to have better graphics, we have those better graphics, we have to sacrifice other things (thinking on a 100% use of all resources)

I'm not worried about it. I too play on a ps3. I will enjoy the game regardless.

It won't. It was stated that 30 frames is the target for last gen versions, whereas the current gen versions run at 30. A sub-HD resolution also wouldn't surprise me.

I'm guessing that once the review embargo is lifted on Tuesday we'll start seeing comparison videos out there.

Most likely there are two possible reasons for why they don't show it in lower graphics. 1. They want to show the game at its best possible quality. 2. Microsoft and Sony probably want to push for more PS4 and Xbox One sales by advertising the game for the PS4 and Xbox One. Especially when it's so close to the Holiday Season (whether there was a request or a contract to do it this way, I do not know).

Also, if you think about it, once a new console platform comes out, and it's been almost a year since the PS4 and Xbox One have, most video game advertisements will be focused on the new consoles instead of the old ones.
