Will Assassins Creed Unity keep us from spazzcon 5 this week?

After the Watchdogs PC downgrade fiasco, I won't buy anything with a Ubisoft logo on it again.
I feel the same way..
In addition to:
- Far Cry 2 being completely downgraded and falsely advertised
- Habit of delaying games give or take 2 weeks before release
- Assassins creed often shipping completely Broken with the weirdest visual glitches that will never get fixed. (groups of pedestrians suddenly dissapearing infront of you? or appearing? been in the game since part 1)
I don't know why.. but lately all Ubisoft games feel so cheap and flimsy. weak imitations of better games.

Don't have a next gen console and with my PC specs I can only dream to play a game with such ridiculously high system requirements... and its a shame as Unity looks like AC game I've been waiting for since finishing AC2.

I won't buy anything from them. Poor service and optimization. They blame their incompetence on PC community every time.

Nah. AC became uninteresting after AC2 for me and hasn't offered any innovation since, asides from adding in the sailing mechanic from AC3 which has now been shamelessly rehashed in all the "new world" instalments of the series.
The combat has remained rather largely the same (and clunky) in each AC game and the plot always seems to have an anti-religious agenda it wishes to force down my throat. AC is kinda like the recent GTA games for me too: interesting for the first few hours but then they get boring after several but at least GTA feels truly different with each instalment and has more to do in its world and doesn't preach to me (will perhaps the new GTA is somewhat preachy but then again, I haven't played that one so I'm only going on with what I've seen with it in gameplay videos, AC seems to have both am anti-religious and leftist political agenda that I simply find obnoxious).
Unity will be the best set up (it's set during the French Revolution for God's sake) for Ubisoft to completely vent their agenda even more, so God no, even if they performed a miracle and did away with a life-time habit of reusing the same mechanics, the cringe-worthy plot alone would be reason to avoid the game. I certainly don't appreciate a game made by Dawkins disciples telling me that I'm a "monstrous sub-human and misogynistic rapist xtian opposed to freedom" just because I don't agree with leftist views.

It will for me.
I don't care about all that parity hate. As long as I enjoy a game, I don't freaking care whether it's in 1080p or not.

It's not about parity, it's about it's about the fact that Ubisoft did a shifty in downgrading the graphics on PC then lied about it. Companies that deceive their customers and then lie to cover their asses should not be supported. It's about not supporting bad business practices.

Meh, still don't really care. I never even watched the screens where the graphics were still alot better so the only image I have is that of the final build.

They did kill off the one char everyome was bored of in black flag and open the story more in the end., but yeah mainly getting unity cause enjoyed black flag. But will always be some common themes, amd hoping the new addons for the combat will truly be different but we will see.
But still expect somehow to finish a lot of the game by the time DA:I is out or fully.

I usually wait and buy AC games when they are on sale. I really only play the main story(and the few interesting side quests), and ignore all the collecting/mini-games... so it's not really worth the launch-day price tag($69.99CAD) for me. That said, I'm sorely tempted to get it, just because I know it will help with the waiting. Maybe I should take a look at my Steam backlog instead...

If you don't care about being lied to, I really have no words. I just... I don't even

What am I supposed to do then? Engage in some childish 'boycot'?
Whether or not I buy the game will not mkae them suddenly go:"Oh darn it, we sure shouldn't have lied to that guy". If say 30% of their buyers would do so then yes it would have an effect. But as it is now, the game will still sell well.
If they keep on lying and making worse games, then their sales will eventually diminish over time. But this one I'm still buying.

You could apply this to most publishers if you wanted to. EA more than most.

I'll have Unity on Tuesday, but instead will be playing the Halo MCC to keep me busy before Inquisition.
Then I'll be playing Inquisition on launch, and only after I beat it will I go to Unity.
Then after I beat Unity, back to Halo most likely.
Gaming wise, I'll be busy.

Unity looks interesting and like the first amount of fresh blood AC has had pumped into it in a while.
But I'm thinking I'm going to save my money until Black Friday. Thinking about it, there are still plenty of games in my backlog that I can play until DA:I comes out.

I just reinstalled the entire Neverwinter Nights 2 with all expansions, and downloaded Baldur's Gate: Reloaded mod (entire BG in NWN2).
It's been many years since the last time I played NWN2 I was stunned how many starting classes, specs and races there are.
Creating my starting character alone took me about 2 hours.
And it's 3ed DnD so I think it is better than DA:O.
Perfect game with endless possibilities thanks to mods and great game rules.
Hi res mods here and there and it doesn't even look so old.
man i love 3E!!!! i still play icewind dale 2 because its in glorious 3E VISION!!!! same with NWN2, and those x-packs, notice i said effing X-PACKS AND NOT "DEE ELL CEE".... but all the XPs for NWN2 were great especially the one you get to make your whole party, hell yeah man!!!

I picked up Unity, we'll see. I haven't played any of the other Assassin's Creed games, but the co-op of this was a little appealing.
