id be happy with a game where we restore Tevinter's dominance over Thedas, enslaving elves and burning Ferelden to the ground are a bonus
You're so sick, but I love you.
Come on, devs. For the next game let's leave this part of the Thedas and explore some more.
It is possible that what we saw is very tiny part of the entire world.
Let's mount some expedition through The Donarks, or to the West through the mountains.
What is waiting up there, could be far more interesting than another save the world / political story (IMO)
The entire Thedas can be huge.
Imagine it could be like this (this is Warhammer map, rotaded. But the white rectangled area looks very similar to Thedas :
I vote for exploration in the next game. Let's leave the politic and darkspawn behind, at least for one game.
Given how influential Warhammer obviously was to DA... your rotation of the map seems like that might have been exactly what they did it looks so similar.

Not necessarily. Many games maps are influenced by our RL wrold map.
Warhammer, The "Europe"
The entire world of Warhammer is nearly copy-paste of our globe
Then, if you rotate Thedas ...
...The Europe
And here another Europe, this time it is a part of Tamriel (Elder Scrolls, Skyrim on this map i just to the east)
@xkg: I'm just saying I think a great many ideas were inspired from Warhammer. It's not a bad thing in my opinion. Warhammer is one of the greatest fantasy/sci-fi IPs to exist in my opinion.
Just replaying DAO, Sten did give an indication that they'd invade Fereldan sometime while the Warden was alive.
ANTIVA!!! I so want to see first.
Visiting Tevinter & Rivain sounds good to me, frankly anything set in and around Rialto Bay would be nice. I was pleased to hear him say that the darkspawn threat hasn't played itself out, meaning we likely aren't done with the terrific Grey Warden lore. I like the Qunari, but don't really love that race. Their constantly evolving appearance hasn't helped much with that. I would like to delve into the elven history much, much more.
And if Bioware ever wants to throw caution to the wind and just jump ahead to the next blight, I'm all for that!
Much as I'd also be interested in the Qunari Thedas Invasion Plan , Take 2...
I'd like to play a game set in Tevinter about a slave rebellion.
This, so much.
I'd actually make an elf for this. MLK-style personality. (Except probably female and I doubt I could get away with nonviolence. Unless stealth games are the new "in thing" at the time of development. lol)
Modern-day Shartan, FTW.
I would like to see more dwarf cities than just Orzammar. Kal-Sharok is mentioned several times but never actually seen. ( I don't think its in Inquisition either?)
Visiting Tevinter, the anderfels and Rivain would be neat as well.
I'd be all for the dramatic shift in setting that would come with a game set in Tevinter and/or Rivain. I think it's about time for that, too; DAI is taking us to a lot of new places but I think in no small part, a good bit of it is about revisiting locations from Origins with a bigger budget and better graphics and just finding out what happened to them after the events of the first game.
After you've done that I think the next game being completely removed from the familiar is a good step.
I vote for the Anderfels, More Germanic influences than French is good, more deserts than forests is good, Pro-Chantry with a huge Grey warden Population is good. but I could go for Tevinter as a close second.
I would very much welcome a trip to Tevinter. I've been waiting for a taste of someting different than what we've seen.
Does anyone know what is south of Ferelden and the Korcari Wilds etc?
"Uncharted Territories" is what it says on the map.
And apparently it gets much colder as you go. I mean, people could go there, by why would they? Like Northern Canada."Uncharted Territories" is what it says on the map.
I like the idea of exploring beyond Thedas eventually, but I feel there's too many interesting cultures left in Thedas to explore before we 'jump ship' so to speak. In order of highest interest: Tevinter (Side trip to Seheron), Nevarra, Antiva, (A few more Marcher cities), Rivain, the Anderfels (Mostly just to see Weissaupt)Not necessarily. Many games maps are influenced by our RL wrold map.

The Future of Dragon Age:

Man, that button sure sounds AWESOME!
Would love to see a DA4 involving Tevinter and the Qunari at war. However, I don't think Tevinter has a chance without help from more of Thedas (didn't Starkhaven hold back a Qunari invasion once?). So, given the addition of diplomacy in DAI it might make for an interesting battle...maybe involving issues of slavery and blood magic as negotiating points for Tevinter? Also, definitely would want to see Minrathous, Seheron, maybe Par Vollen?
So because they have deliberately gone for the worst possible combat style we should not say a thing....right.
EDIT: second part was to harsh.
Seriously is it to much to ask that people actually use weapons somewhere near the correct way? I don't mean having a 'real' damage model, DA doesn't and never has done that, but people moving how you should with weapons, it looks far better, and more powerful, than 'rainbow backflip 5' which is what we seem to have.
It's odd to me that people are complaining so much about Tevinter slavery. In this game, we're going to Orlais, where 95% of people are serfs, hardly treated any better. It's a different word, but the practice is barely different. Still, I haven't seen a single thread about improving the lot of the common man. Sure, Mages, who can control the forces of nature and are provided a comfortable existence with access to the best libraries need be freed, and the Dalish need a homeland, but no one seems to care about the bulk of Thedosian society.
Oh we all know the life of the peasantry is full of rural simplicity and arcadia like wholesomeness ![]()
Yes, it is interesting that for many players (and fans of fantasy or sci-fi in general) show so little concern for "muggles" in these settings.
I saw arch demon that means more wardens i hope that will be enough for me lol
Isn't that a pretty poor comparison? It's one thing to talk about peasantry and serfdom in the middle ages- but we haven't seen anything like that. Consider what we've seen of Ferelden and Kirkwalls's poor- in Lothering, a farming village, the farmer had a nice little house. Gamlen, of all people, with all his terrible habits and debt, still manages to own a two room house in lowtown. The city elves, considered in-lore to have it pretty bad off, still have not-terrible houses, and people HAVE discussed helping them out. (Indeed, my City Elf became Bann of the alienage.) Far from the serfdom you claim, Ferelden is based on the concept of Freehold, per the codex on The History of Ferelden.Oh we all know the life of the peasantry is full of rural simplicity and arcadia like wholesomeness

Dragon Age 4: Black Flag.
Set in/around Rivain.
Your character becomes a raider captain.
There are naval battles and sea monsters.
Customize and name your ship.
I don't care if you're joking, that's an awesome idea. Bioware, hire this man. And some lawyers for when Ubisoft catches wind.

I want to fight a giant sea monster from the deck of a ship in a DA game so badly.
And Rivain as a setting would allow for a very interesting variety of possible companions and locations... I'd like to party with a Rivani Seer and visit Kont-aar.
