I would like to see a remastered version of DAO for the Xbox One and PS4 with Dragon Age Inquisitions engine.

I would like the story to stay the same but I just want it to be on current gen with a open world Ferelden.

I mean if Mass Effect is getting a remake I don't see a reason why we can't.

No idea if that'll happen but have a look at Dragon Age Redesigned (link for download and info here). It's a PC mod so i know not exactly what your after but probably as close as you'll find for a while at least.

I would love it, I just installed Origins on my PC and I can say it was a real falure (the DLC part).

At least PS4 is something I can use =)

So you would prefer not to have DA4 ?

Mass effect is getting a re-make

A bigger issue for DA:O is that it isn't based on some more stable, commercial engine like UE3. It's based basically on the NWN Aurora engine, just heavily modded. DA:O in FB3 would literally be re-creating the whole game from scratch. It'll never happen.

Please that's years away.

The time spent making Dragon age origins in FB3 would stop them working on a possible sequel

I'm all for it except I rather just get a HD version, not a total remake. That's all ME is getting, a revamped prettier version. That's good enough by me. Lets hope.

If there ever was a remastered version I'd prefer it to be the same as the original other than the usual improvements that PS4/Xbox One remasters like Sleeping Dogs get. In a don't fix something that isn't broken kind of way.

During N7 Day, BioWare asked what fans would like to see from a remastered ME trilogy.

They didn't confirm they were going to do it, just asking what people would like from it.

It's still years away and I do not see why they can not work on both?!

Stop living in the past. If all devs did was remake old games we'd never get new ones. Tell them what was great about DA:O and get them to put it in the next even better game.

Honestly, I am not sure I would want this.   I will have to wait to see what it looks like in the game itself, but quite frankly I think the original DA:O conversation visuals in the old eclipse engine are far better than what I have seen of Frostbite 3 so far in the few clips I have seen on youtube.

Yes, the combat and environments look better, but the up-close conversations leave a LOT to be desired from what I have seen so far.   I hope that it is simply poor youtube degradation and not poor lip-syncing and shoddy character engines.

This. I work for a company that makes a widely used software in the semi-conductor industry. We always get requests like can you support your old version on Windows 8 or Mac or whatever? They make it sound like it is a trivial port or something. It is not.

No way Bioware would do this unless they see a lot of sales. There will not be a lot of sales so it won't happen. This kind of ports happen on PCs where some independent fan group of volunteer developers (or funded by kickstarter) will update an old game to a newer platform with improved graphics and such. That is about it.

i'd like a remastered version only if they give your character a voice but that wouldn't happen would take to much time and money i rather have a new dragon age game over a remastered with main character voice

A remastered version would probably require recreating the entire game code for a new engine (probably Frostbite), all for a product only a fraction of the original Origins audience would buy. All that time and money would be better spent making a new game.

I wouldn't mind an update Enhanced Edition for modern systems, but I can't see it happening.

Can't see them bringing in another company to update it either.

But it is the trend these days, so I guess it's not completely impossible either.

Unless they can fully replicate Origins mechanics and systems in FB3, no thanks. The changes to gameplay mechanics and controls utterly ruined Inquisition for me, the last thing I want is to see Origins saddled with that junk.

Ah that'd be incredible if it did happen! I won't hold out too much hope, but wow...I'd love to see Origins enhanced for today's gen. It might also get more new players to take a crack it, if they found the old graphics off putting. Fingers crossed! XD

(I'm not even going to think about how they'd do it yet...just the idea is a nice enough one for me for the time being)

FB3 is quite resourceful, you'll see.
