It's because of posts like this that SH waste their time doing useless remake instead of focusing on sequels or brand new IP games.
Will you make a Dragon Age Origins Remastered for current gen please bioware?

THANK GOD! As long as things like Inquisition never see the light of day, I'm ok with that.

I'd buy it, but I'd like the Mass Effect Trilogy first

That's new.
Mass effect is getting a re-make?
A bigger issue for DA:O is that it isn't based on some more stable, commercial engine like UE3. It's based basically on the NWN Aurora engine, just heavily modded. DA:O in FB3 would literally be re-creating the whole game from scratch. It'll never happen.
Yes that, and: the guy's asking them to remake the game in an open world concept.
I have no idea how to repsond to that except burying my face in hands

I don't really care for the whole "rebooting" craze - EXCEPT when I think about Mass Effect. I think DAO stands on it's own, and doesn't need remaking. I would have thought that would be a more popular sentiment, especially around here. It's in many ways a perfect example of Bioware's signature "thing," and it's still gonna be a good game in ten years.
Versus Mass Effect, where the gameplay is MUCH more all over the place over the course of it's various installments than the DA series, and also where the entire overarching story of the second and third games could stand to be thrown away and re-written entirely.
Mass Effect could really use a reboot. And mods.

I am against this, as much as I love dao, bringing it to fb3 I feel like the same cinematics and cutscenes would actually be hindered by how they handled it in dai. The combat is also what I'd fear. Ai also, items, talents and the beloved blood mage being as useless as the necromancer? No.
Let's leave dao alone.

DA:O needs a remaster like BG2 needed one, not at all. Yet BG2 got one and it blows. So i am hoping DA:O will be left alone, it is a masterpiece that can stand the test of time.

Yeah, Bioware should remaster Dragon Age Origins and Awakening with the current engine.
Maybe add a crafting and dying system?
And make the combat a bit more dynamic and fun, but keep the strategic element of the game.
I would buy. Plus, I can finally get my friends to play Origins without them complaining that "it looks old".

I would love this, but they'd have to preserve the skills and the tactical cam etc. Done right it'd be freaking amazing.
I'm not sure the new dragon age games are that level of quality yet though, they have a lot to work out first.

They won't. It will just inspire more calls for the Hero of Ferelden to return in a new game.

Origins was and still a masterpiece it doesn't need remastering.

I like this idea, but i think they should wait a few more years. Origins is getting long in the tooth, and if they're going to do it, it'd better be a goddamn cinematic masterpiece. No wooden characters, no crappy ai over tactics, true to the original right down to the top down interface and pause options for those who want it, and the more modern 3rd person control for those who want that.
I don't want DAO: Inquisition Edition.

Oh, man. This would be amazing. I've been saying for a while that I would absolutely love to have this, assuming they recorded a voice (male and female) for the protagonist. And I would much rather have it than a Dragon Age 4 if DA4 follows the model of Inquisition, which I barely liked.
To be clear, I don't want a redesigned Dragon Age: Origins. Just a version with a voiced protagonist, a user interface overhaul, and somewhat updated graphics. Mechanics should stay exactly the same.
I know it will never happen. It's a nice dream, though.

This so much...
I don't want to see origins ruined by the anime stilish flashy limited action combat of dragon age 2 or inquisition... Not even want see it with the "art direction" they chosen...DA team should learn to stay more consistent in the games they are doing...
Sadly origins was a product of a bioware that is no longer in the current bioware and a remake will end to have a game with updated graphic dumbed down and full of fillers quest....

I would like to see a remastered version of DAO for the Xbox One and PS4 with Dragon Age Inquisitions engine.
I would like the story to stay the same but I just want it to be on current gen with a open world Ferelden.
I mean if Mass Effect is getting a remake I don't see a reason why we can't.
Bioware will need serious dough so get that made. Unlike Square Enix (with their remastered Final Fantasy 7), Bioware needs to more sales to get it remastered in a completely different engine.

Go to nexusmods, download HD textures, be happy.
Also download fix packs, DAO needs lots of fixing to combat, a lot of things do not work as intended but thankfully fans have fixed it.
With these you will have a lore friendly game with acceptable graphics and working combat.
If you're not a purist, go nuts with mods. (I have two DAOs, one for vanilla experience and another for mod crazyness)
I would absolutely love a DAO Remake in the current engine, as much as I hate Inquisition combat DAO didn't have respawning enemies or resources so I could bear the (THANKFULLY) limited number of fights present in the game. If they mimic maps, cutscenes, and well, everything possible (meaning everything the current engine allows to reproduce as it was) game would be awesome enough for me to ignore combat mechanics. But if they replicate Inquisition in DAO instead of doing their best to recplicate DAO, then, yes, it would be hell: DAO with giant maps, stupid quests, respawning enemies and resources... no thanks.

Stop living in the past. If all devs did was remake old games we'd never get new ones. Tell them what was great about DA:O and get them to put it in the next even better game.
We did. They cut it all out anyway.
Rest in peace, tactics menu.

Origins is great like it is. And a lot of people would not like to play it without mods. And the mods will not work with a Remasterd DA:O. ![]()
I have about ... 100 or more DA:O mods. Playing without them? NEVER! ![]()
They should focus on DA4. If they want to do a remake of the Mass Effect - Trilogy, they should not forget to make a better ending (this time depending on our decisions, please). ![]()
If they do something "around DA:O" they should finally say what happen to our "Hero". Like I wrote in different threads before: The "Hero of Ferelden" is missing in action. Like Hawke. Gives me the feeling of an "unfinished job, an unfinished game".

This is just my opinion. I don't like the fact that Mass Effect always comes before anything Dragon age. Yes a lot of people like Mass effect.. but I prefer Dragon Age hands down. If Mass Effect is going to be made for next gen consoles then I'd hope the same would be done for Dragon age. I would buy dragon age origins and 2 remastered hands down. I really wan't to see it happen. ![]()
