Hai Guyz,

I haven't played DA:O or DA2 for years. Will Inquisition be affected by previous saves as heavily as the Mass Effect series?

We don't know really at this point how much will carry over but big things will.  But I say replay them since DAO is an amazing game so I would always suggest playing it.  And DA2 will play into the story of DAI a lot with the start of the mage Templar war and all.  So yes play though them and then go put your choices in the Keep.

Strictly speaking, No.  DAI does NOT import saved data from the previous games.  You have to make decisions in The Keep.  I recommend either Chrome or Firefox for The Keep.  The decisions you make in The Keep can then be imported into DAI and are used to determine your starting World State in DAI.

^^^ Yep, like Poisd said. Also the Keep serves as a handy reminder of the main plot points of the last 2 games - complete with Varric narration :) So really, you don't need to replay at all but like JasonPogo said, they're great games so replaying em if never a bad thing. If nothing else it'll fill the waiting time!

Thanks Guyz, my only incentive to re-download and play those games would be if Inquisition is using a Mass Effect-like save system. However, since saves aren't going to be imported, I am not going to bother.

If you have the time before DAI is released, then I say play them.

The first one yes, but DON'T TOUCH NUMBER 2.

Really don't do it, DA2 was the second worst game ever... it is only enjoyable if you like shity teenager writting plots, and if you like those you would be better reading Twilight than playing DA2. DA2 offers absolutely no roleplay experience and intense boredom, plus murder rage, just don't touch DA2 and you will be fine

I loved DA2 I felt that the plot was more complex than Origins, but I guess I like teenage writing plots and Twilight right?

this is subjective, I like DA2, and it certianly is not the worst game ever. But hey fun is subjective. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean i am not going to like as well.

Since the OP clearly stated that they had already played both DA:O & DA2 and just wanted to know if they should replay them, I find this DA2 bashing totally needless.

DA2 has become very polarizing, some people loved it, some people hated it, but is there really a need to bash it at every opportunity?

Its ALWAYS worth it to re-play Origins , Da2 .. .eh you can a few times but it didn't have the replay-ability of Origins.

I've gone the other way. I love DA:O and I've replayed it so often, I didn't have much trouble recreating my various playthroughs in the Keep. I'm therefore not planning to replay that before the launch of DA:I.

For DA2, yes, I'm one of those who found it underwhelming and I've played it far less often. However, I'm playing it again now, for two reasons: firstly, since I did find many of the DA2 quests unmemorable and repetitive, I'm finding it quite helpful for completing the Tapestry in the Keep; and secondly, the story of DA2 - whether you like it or not - is very much the prologue to the story of DA:I (or at least that's how I see it!), so I feel it's very much preparing me for that.

Never really understood all the negative criticism towards DA2, sure it was no DA:O and had lot's of flaws, but I liked it and have made multiple playthroughs. I always enjoyed the combat on nightmare difficulty (Origins was a bit to easy on nightmare) and despite the repetitive nature I don't think the story was that bad.

You know I am so sick about gamers who go on about the 2nd game like it was the worst game ever. It isn't.

Dragon Age 2 wasn't bad as people make it out to be. I would say play the 2nd game because there are some good points to it. It tried new things and some people got butthurt and still complain like babies about it.

I wasn't bored and I played both games It had a good story and a few surprises here and there. I would suggest playing both seeing that Hawke will be present in Dragon Age Inquisition.

I'm about to finish up on a play through of DA2. I wanted to be as up to date as possible on the lore so I could provided helpful feedback during the closed beta for the Keep & for DA:I

I was tempted to play DA:O again but every time I play it I become less & less tolerant of the Deep Roads and I just couldn't face them again.

I owe a lot to whoever created the 'Skip the Fade' mod, without it I wouldn't have as many play through of DA:O as I do.
