I feel so alone when almost everyone has Alistair or Alistair and Anora jointly ruled together. Alistair and Anora hate each other, so I don't feel right to let them rule together. Also, 2 different rulers with 2 different opinions are gonna have a lot of people divided. Without meta knowledge, I find Anora already is an effective ruler by herself while Alistair who has no training and experience seem like he would struggle.
Did anyone have Anora as ruler instead of Alistair?

I have, in most of my playthroughs, but then I think that Alistair makes a wonderful drunk so I'm probably "not normal" when compared to the rest of the BSN.

Alistair will basically be another Cailan. Manages armies and troops, while Anora is the public figure head.
Seems like them joining forces is a good idea.

I always have Anora take the throne. I always felt the Wardens say again and again how they do not get involved in politics. So putting Alistair on the throne just seems wrong. I almost always have Alistair stay with the Wardens and Anora take the throne.

He "struggles" only if he wasn't hardened in the process.
But if he is, he's a way better in many people's eyes than Anora. She's just another politician, no different than any other noble and it's boring.

I usually choose anora and alistar unless I am romancing alistar as a non human or am a male human and marry anora to rule with her. But 360 doesn't like to show that alistar is a warden and anora and the warden are rulers

I personally find putting either of them alone on the throne an rather selfish decision. Without Alistair, Anora is an cold and calculating ruler, despite what she would say herself, while Alistair is an wimp with no backbone to do the tough calls. So even if they don't like each other, they can still work together to make Ferelden an better place. Not to mention that if you don't marry them, you will find either Maric supporters or Loghain supporters pissed off because they got the short end of the stick in this conclusion.

Actually, in my very last playthrough I finished just couple of weeks ago I had the ending "Anora rules, Loghain lives, Alistair is a drunk".
Grunted, I don't do it often since I like playing female Cousland and making her the Queen.

We're a small bunch, but my canon also has Anora as sole ruler. My extra two saves have a joint ruling.

I didn't like Anora and I didn't really care what happened to Ferelden so I pretty much just handed Alistair the crown.

Alistair actually stays with the Grey Wardens (or dies due to lack of Dark Ritual depending on my character) while Anora keeps the throne.
My first import will have Alistair as the King but all my other saves after that will be Alistair with the Grey Wardens (or Dead). I have a save where he marries my Cousland and they become King & Queen but I probably won't import that save until way later in the game once I have explored all the different outcomes.
I prefer Alistair and My Couslands Grey Wardens (I don't know why though...)
I get why people tend to put Alistair on the Throne but I felt Anora was already an effective Ruler so I didn't see the point in removing her and giving Alistair the throne he doesn't want (yes - I've hardened him in every playthrough. He admits that he thinks he could be a good king if you ask him during the landsmeet. I don't know if he says the same thing prior to the Landsmeet).
And I can't marry him to Anora. It's not fair on either of them (despite the slides says that they do become joint rulers (though that's just rumours) so Anora keeps the throne (and I keep my headcanon that she is in a relationship with Teagan).
Plus I get to stick it to Eamon that he doesn't get the chance to play puppeteer

You're not alone. In my "canon" playthrough I made in the Keep for my first import, Anora is the sole ruler while Alistair stayed with the Wardens. They both get what they want, *shrugs*

Yea me too. A couple of my world states has her as sole ruler.
Sometimes I get the feeling she'll have Alistair assassinate if they were to rule jointly.

I don't mind having Anora and Alistair rule together. It seems like a classic case of a political royal marriage. She's a stronger ruler, but lacks a legitimacy that he brings as Maric's son. They might not like each other to begin with (I think hate is a strong word), but I could see them eventually learning to respect each other and, possibly, love each other. I think that this is the best outcome, to be honest.

Plus, she's not a Grey Warden. Putting a Grey Warden on the throne opens a huge can of worms, given they're supposed to be a politically neutral order. Not to mention, there's the minor issue of wardens being vulnerable to Corypheus...

I wrote something similar in another thread. It was said good choices in DA1 and 2 might have horrible consequences in DA:I, where bad choices have better outcomes. I'll laugh if Anora brings the Kingdom to it's knees. But Alistair will be a 10x better King than any before him. I always chose Alistair. Anora and her father, were traitorous bitches and idc how you sugar coat it. Also, Alistair is better when hardened.

I made alistair marry Anora, they are a perfect fit to heal that kingdom, a powerful charismatic warrior king who gets the common folk and a queen who knows how to really run a kingdom. Perfect fit
but I also saved lohgain and then had him kill the arch demon :3

Thanks to the mods i frequently ruled along king Alistair. Many rules were broken, i was a female grey warden mage and my people loved me
Other times i was the king along Anora, but dont get me wrong she was a horrible. cold- hearted bit.ch. Most times i betrayed her

I usually have them together, especially if I spare Loghain (I know that's pretty rough on Alistair, but better than him being a drunk). I have a few with Anora queen and Alistair still in the Wardens though. That seems like a happy ending.

Alistair duels Loghain and remains a warden (that's exactly what he wanted to do)
Everyone is happy (...except for Eamon, I guess)
