I followed Grey Warden tradition of allowing criminals find redemption if a life of service as a Warden so i spared Loghain which automatically means Alistair can't be king. So Anora is queen.
Did anyone have Anora as ruler instead of Alistair?

Alistair can be king if Loghain is a Warden. He just needs to be hardened.

It's just a rumor. Cailain has been cheating on Anora, so we don't know if they still sleep together. Also, it could be Cailain who is impotent, not Anora. Anora would likely to outlive the warden, and I doubt the warden could have kids, except for Morrigan. It's up for Morrigan in that case. There are a bunch of nobles who would kill their own kids to claim the throne once Alistair died, so it's not gonna be the Couslands.
The Cousland warden is not 100% infertile considering he can have an baby with Morrigan by natural means. And once Anora dies there will be surely tensions, if not civil war for the throne, since both the Theirin and the Mac Tir lines will die out with Anora and Alistair.

I never hardened him. I put a softened Alistair on the throne. Eamon became Chancellor, and the younger Cousland remained Warden-Commander

I did not know that. I found Alistair comedic relief but didn't really explore all his content. Plus I was a warrior and took over the tanking role in the party so I really didn't need him.

My Warden convinced Alistair to kill himself after slaying Loghain so he could take Anora as queen and place his own Cousland line on the throne of Ferelden.

Anora is queen in my Alistair romance play-through. He stayed a Warden with my mage and they lived tragically ever after.

Yup. That's what I did in my Dalish elf play-through. I'll be importing that into DA:I first. ![]()

In my first playthough I made Anora Queen and let Alistair stay a warden.
Anora seemed to do fine on her own and wanted the throne, Alistair didn't want that role. So I though it was a win-win really.
Anora's support, Alistair a warden, both happy. ![]()
Although in other playthroughs I made Alistair king. Which turned out to be a good enough discussion as well.
Not sure what scenario I prefer....

Alistair gave his life to kill the Archdemon, so Anora got the throne. Might as well since Anora is 100x the ruler Alistair is. Also I don't trust Eamon, he just wants to use Alistair as a puppet.

Anora ruling alone isn't my favourite option. Hardend Alistair as King alone, is my personal "canon". Anora with Alistair is nice if Alistair is unhardened, but Anora ruling alone bothers me for some reason (I think its because she has such ambition to rule, I feel like she'll forget about the true purpose of being King/Queen which is to serve the people and the nation)

I have in fact never made Alistair King in any of my games. He doesn't want to be, I like Anora and she seems to turn out to be a good enough ruler, so never saw the point. Anora rules, Alistair stays a warden like he wants, happy end for everyone. Especially my Warden when she happens to be the one romancing him lol.

I feel so alone when almost everyone has Alistair or Alistair and Anora jointly ruled together. Alistair and Anora hate each other, so I don't feel right to let them rule together. Also, 2 different rulers with 2 different opinions are gonna have a lot of people divided. Without meta knowledge, I find Anora already is an effective ruler by herself while Alistair who has no training and experience seem like he would struggle.
Well - she makes a good ADMINISTRATOR (there's a difference between that and a true ruler), add to that that there's the rumor that she can't have any children (note: No, I am not hung up on children in RL - on the contrary, I don't want any myself, but in a medieval society with bloodlines being important, you can't have a ruler who can't really have children...it creats civil unrest, maybe even civil war)...no, just can't put her on the throne in good conscience (Ferelden needs a true leader after this blight - a hardened Alistair (though young and in-experienced in leadership) fills that place quite nicely...after all he might not think much of backdoor politics, but at least he knows how to fight...leadership can be learned, courage can not IMHO)

I tend to force Anora and Alistair together, if only because I like the idea of a calculating queen being supported by a charismatic king. That, and frankly I think he'd treat her far better than that bastard Cailan ever did - and with Anora in power the influence of Arl Eamon is reduced so he can't puppeteer behind the scenes as I believe he would if left with Alistair as the only regent on the throne. Which wouldn't last long, admittedly if Alistair is hardened, but squishy Alistair? Yeaaaaaaaah, that isn't going to go well.

I wonder how many people have the warden and Anora ruling jointly together?

I did...I found it kind of wonderful how Anora seemed to care just a tiny bit during the opening of Awakening.

Yup, Anora rules alone in my canon and most of my PTs. I guess I can understand why people like the idea of him as King, but I just have only been able to in-character justify it with a dopey headed Warden who was like " you'd be such a great king, bro!!!", and a scheming one who romanced him and remained his mistress so she could rule behind him and use him as a puppet king. (I don't play Cousland so I've never married him for the power).

In my canon, its just Anora on the throne. Loghain would have loved it, if Al hadn't cut off his head. I'm also sure Eamon will get over it eventually.

Anora softens up to Alistair if they're wed as he reminds her of her dead husband before he started cheating on her.

Anora is queen. Unhardened Alistair is still a warden. Loghain is dead.
That's my personal canon. Mostly because, while I know Alistair ends up being a good king, I would have never believed he had it in him if I had actually been there making the decision.

My world-state has Anora and my Grey warden ruling Ferleden which I guess means she is ruling alone when the game starts since the Grey Warden is missing? I adore Anora and how political she is and I find her much more capable at ruling than drunky Alistair. It was an easy decision for my politically minded and power hungry human.

Considering everything that went horribly wrong in the fifth blight under her watch after Cailan's death, I had no confidence in Anora as a solo ruler.
So she's typically ruling jointly with Alistair or King Cousland.
