Or as the scholar, after spending some time getting advisors in place, it only takes a handful of card draws to max out one of Serault's attributes and garner enough clues to buy one of the trophies etc. Especially once you learn what each of the card outcomes leads to

I've beaten the game and from that reverse engineered the necessary number. Strictly speaking I don't know if it is actually a different "ending" than the 15 ending, but it is a better result. Also you can in theory do it with less, but you can also get the "good" ending with less than 15 in theory. 30 is just a baseline based on the same calculation as 15 is.

I had 18, I believe -- 15 secrets and 3 trophies -- and I got (what I assumed was) the "good" ending. It was the ending that seemed to be the goal, at least.

It stated that you needed to get a combination of viands, trophies and secrets for the divine. It seems it's been updated to 15 each.

Where in the game is this stated though. I've heard nothing about the divines appearance since I got three viands for the original goal :S

I think the update is just worded poorly as they don't say they changed how many you actually need just what it says in game. And considering you need twice as many items for the best ending as for the good ending....yeah I don't think they changed it to 90. Just a hunch.

I did spend a good amount of dawn to advance time, yes.

Well it's important to know what to concentrate on. I need Viands and Trophies but I'd also like to get my scholarship up, but I can't do all three. I'd need to concentrate on two so it would be good to know which direction to head in.

15 total for a good ending, 30 total for the best result (that I am aware of). Note that the exact amount needed may more or less based on choices you make, these are just base line values to give you an idea of what to aim for.

 

Edit: Ugh I'm starting to get paranoid that they might have changed some values since I beat the game. So I'm just going to explain how the meeting with the Divine works. You spend items of the same kind in multiples of three to get a chance of gaining favor relative to how many items you spent (so 3 items for 1 favor, 6 items for 2 favor, and 9 for 3, notes that you will have multiple options for a some prices and some may not give you the full potential points). There are three thresholds you can reach to gain stuff from the Divine, when I went through the thresholds were 2(or was it 3?), 5, and 10. You have some options that can raise or drop favor with the Divine that don't use items, but not a lot of them. Once you run out of available options, you have one final action that costs favor with the Divine (for me it was 5). If you have the required amount, you get a good ending, if you don't then I have no idea what happens. So just go for as high as you can get to maximize your chances.

Do those of you who have finished have a transcript of the final screen? It might be a good idea to compare end dialogue with exact numbers and major choices to see where the dividing lines are, although that might be better done in a separate thread with a MASSIVE spoiler tag in the headline

It might make sense, but it completely wrong. You need 15 total for a good ending. 50 was a typo that has been fixed. If you want the best ending, the number you should be shooting for is greater than 30 total.

Except that multiple people have contradicted you, and you fail to explain how 15 each is "completely wrong."  So far I have 10 trophies and 9 viands, and 5 secrets' 15 each is certainly plausible by the end of the game.  I still have 5 market days left.

I don't see your point, I finished the game with close to 100 items, I also ended up with twice the amount of favor that I had any need for (would have been more had I not lost half of my remaining items part way through the feast). Just because it is possible to get a ridiculous amount of items doesn't mean they are necessary. If you want to see an explanation, I have an explanation of the end of the game a couple posts up.

15 each sounds about right to get the best possible ending, even with complications.  I'm sure you can get the best ending with less if you do everything correctly and have your stats just right.  I think the recommended amount has to be high, cause a few choices in game can really hurt you in end game if you don't proceed in the proper manner.
