Am I the only one who didn't like Sumalee's voice acting?
I wasn't feeling it either, which makes me super glad I had already decided to go with AWR for my 1st playthrough as human mage.
Maybe Sumalee gets better further in?

Apart from Josephine, all founding members are ardent Chantry loyalists. The values and beliefs are all the same either way.
That's correct, apart from the part where Leliana doesn't follow Chantry dogmas in her beliefs and followed the kinda pro-mage Justinia. And the part where Cassandra just told a Chantry representative to ****** off and that the PC is a gift from the Maker, heresy if it ever existed. And the part where Cullen quit the Templars in disgust.
So no, actually that's really not correct at all.

I wasn't a fan of it either. The Inquisitor just reminded me so much of Shepard I was thinking she would turn into her when her hand started to glow like a glow stick. I don't know if it was the voice actor that contributed to that feeling, the body language or a combination of both.

It was uneven, I thought. She had some really excellent readings, and a couple of flat lines. I still can't wait to use her, though.
Overall, an excellent beginning to the game. Some of it was a little too rushed, but for the most part it flowed really nicely. I absolutely cannot wait to play through as my Inquisitor(s).

I think the main thing that struck me (and bugged me) was that she sounded so passive. The world has demons pouring from the sky, and all her dialogue sounded like she was discussing something mundane like the weather. I'm really hoping it changes further into the game, as I was planning to use her voice for my Qunari and Dwarf.

I think that's a bit much. Sure, they're Andrastians, but they are different kind of Andrastians. Leliana is fairly unconventional as shown in Origins; Cassandra seems quite willing to welcome new interpretations of divine will and give the middle-finger to Chantry bureaucracy; Cullen also turned against Meredith when push came to shove. Those beliefs are NOT the same.
If you're hell-bent on toppling the Chantry, then yeah, you'll probably be disappointed that the dominant religion of all of Thedas remains a significantly powerful influence on the world / game. But come on, who expected different? The fact that a Quanri or Dalish who can openly say they don't go inf or the Chantry stuff is still being followed by the entire organization still indicates a large dose of secularity to me.
Probably not, but I liked it.
I liked it, but I prefer the British version. But that's just personal preference. I actually was reminded of the Female Shepherd a bit (and not in a bad way).

I'll think I will stick with the default British for human and elf, American for dwarf and qunari.

I think it felt rushed because they ran threw it pretty quick.
If it was me playing I would have played at a lot slower pace.

She had a couple of flat lines but generally i ******* love it.
I think AWR is fantastic but she "conveys to much emotions in her speech" i honestly dont know what to call it.
Sumalee has a more sultry calm manner of speaking which i prefer.
In real life i have an extremely bland and indifferent voice which conveys zero emotion
This is the reason why i prefer silent protagonists.I find it a lot easier projecting myself into my character then.

I also think they skipped over a lot of things I think they could have explored the first bit a little I know I will be looking at every inch of the game to find the secrets I still remember the days when even guides did not share every secret

yeah, i was constantly wanting them to run around and find stuff like it would
glad they told us about the optional encounter though!

I liked Sumalee's voice acting and to be fair to her they mostly picked the calm level headed responses, we don't know what the other lines are like. They could be more appropriate in terms of tone, like I am pretty sure I saw an angry one

I was really hoping that we'd learn a little about the qunari Inquisitor's background prior to game release. I was stoked when I saw that they were going with a qunari for this twitch because I thought, for sure, that in the first hour of gameplay, something about your past would come up. And......nope. Maybe it was in some of the investigation prompts that they skipped, but it sounds like it happens afterwards. They said something about giving you a chance to discuss your background once you get control in Haven. I really want to know a bit more about their upbringing. I'd hate to roll with a British accent and then find out, two hours into the game, that it's anachronistic. Mainly because I'm just interested in playing qunari and dwarves, both of which have American accents, but I want to try all four voices at some point (well, at least both male voices).
Outside of that, this was really amazing. If I weren't at a '10' in excitement prior to this (and who am I kidding with that anyway), this certainly pushed me there. I just want to get my hands on the game, spend 2 hours creating characters, and then lose myself for days. So close, yet so far!

American Male - Eh, I'm okay with it.
British Male - Love it. Might be my main one.
American Female (this stream) - I'm...really not feeling it. Maybe it was the specific Qunari look though, I dunno.
British Female - I really like it, but I can't get Samantha Traynor out of my head when it comes down to it (for now).

I like the American male better than the British male. And I like the British female better than the American female. And I like both male voices better than either female voice.

Twitch takes hours to load a single 20 minutes video. The playback function is pretty horrible in twitch.
