The lack of screenshots and video of the PS3 and 360 versions is a bad sign for SOMEONE.

Who that someone is though is undetermined. See, the publisher ever only specifically avoids showing a certain version only when they know that a good part of their fanbase is going to be very angry. It's more than just not being bothered, no footage or screens of those versions this close to release is highly suspect. So it's 1 of 2 things. Either they last gen versions are actually so good looking and close to the next gen versions that the next gen buyers get mad because they feel like their version must have been held back so it didn't look too much better than the last gen versions, or that the developers were "lazy" and didn't put in enough effort to squeeze more power out of the next gen consoles. Or the last gen versions so significantly worse that the last gen buyers get mad because the developers were "lazy" and didn't put in enough effort to squeeze more power out of the last gen consoles (notice the parallel) and that their versions looks so much worse in comparison that they feel like they are getting ripped off. Either way, someone is going to throw a fit.

If this wasn't the case, Bioware and EA wouldn't be so afraid to show those versions. If they weren't fearing massive backlash, they would have revealed something of those versions by now. The fact that they haven't with the release date right around the corner tells me that they know that either those versions are too crappy looking or too good looking, and they it's going to be a crap fest no matter what. Question is, which is it? I'm buying the last gen versions, so I'm selfishly hoping it's the "looks too good" one.

Don't know what you want. To sell the game they're going to show it at its best, and that's not PS3 or xbox360. You don't see them posting pc screens at 800x600 minimum settings on their main site or twitter, do you? Yet there will be people who will try to play on their craptops and probably end up doing just that.

Don't go in expecting it to be graphically amazing on old gen consoles, it just ain't going to happen, and I I think the only reason it's on those systems is because they can downgrade cost effectively, broadening their profit potential.

OR, the last gen versions aren't as pretty looking, but still look nice, and they haven't been shown off simply because marketing wants the game to put it's best face forward. Not everything has to be a doomsday senario.

Why can't it look amazing on last gen consoles? There are a lot of last gen games that still look amazing to me now. If Bioware really puts effort in DAI, even the last gen versions will look really good. I don't expect my version to look as good as the next gen ones, but I do expect it to look as good as a lot of other games in my collection. The only reason my version will look crappy is if they didn't put much effort into making them look as good as they could. I expect my version to be a 9/10 or 10/10 graphically, if the next gen versions are a 12/10.

Last gen owners know and should know they are not getting the best version. That doesn't mean that it's going to look bad. We have seen BF4 on last gen consoles and it looks fine. The differences between the last and next gen will only be noticeable unless you look for it or pay close attention to graphics.

Actually, different game, but I think it will be the same level of difference as GTA V. Or better, hopefully. This is my baseline, what I'm at least hoping to get with the difference between the next gen and last gen versions of DAI.

It's almost as good looking as the PS4 version, but I notice that some "extra details" are in the PS4 version. Shinier surfaces, more dynamic cars in the background, more grass and plantlife. PS3 version isn't as good as the PS4 version, yet it's still the best looking GTA game on the last gen consoles.

I would say a sort of good example as gta5 was built for PS3/xbox360 and then upgraded to the PS4/xbone which does change design on graphics and resorce allocation.

Where as its theopposite here I would expect more of a quality drop but not by much.

Seriously.   To get upset at this seems a bit odd to me.   I mean, shouldn't you be praising them for even offering the 360/PS3 versions still?    They could have easily just said sorry, last gen stuff is just too old to make the game we want on it.    To honestly get upset that the game might not look as good on 10 year old hardware just astounds me.

Of course it isn't going to look as good.    I am sure they squeezed every bit of performance that could from that old equipment, but 512 MB of shared RAM has very REAL limitations.

It's normal. Annoying for customers, but normal and no reason to panic.

If you are concerned, wait until the games released and you should be able to find something

Or it's not a bad sign of anything, for anyone.

It's old technology, and wont look as good. They want to show the game looking its best, so they are releasing shots from new hardware.

They also aren't releasing screenshots of minimized graphic settings for PC, either.

Me? I'm not getting upset. I'm just thinking that Bioware might be worried that they're in a damn-if-they-do-and-damned-if-they-don't situation. I have no reason to be upset, I have no basis of what my version will look like to get upset. I'm just thinking, with this fanbase, they're going to get whined at either way.

I'm not saying it's going to look bad. Graphics are moot to me anyways, I still play my playstation 1/2/3 and emulate a bunch of classics. I'm just saying that it isn't going to look as good as PC or PS4/Xbones, and again they want to show the game at its "best". Thinking the quality will match PS4/Xbones is going in with expectations you maybe should not have. It will be close, and it's not just the pretty that matters but how smoothly it runs, but if you're happy with it I don't see the problem.

Why would they show last-gen versions? Haven't most cross-generation games focused on the this/next-gen graphics in promotions so far?

That said, if you're expecting GTA5 level stuff, you're shooting too high. GTA5 was not a cross-gen game, nor was it made for PC - they only had two platforms to consider. Think Battlefield 4, AC4, Call of Duty Recent, etc - games that are multi-plat and multi-gen. Some quality is always sacrificed on last-gen compared to what could be in these types of releases.

I think it's more so that if they released both screenshots people may get confused. Some people still think the alpha shots are final so some may mistake the last gen for next gen despite the images saying which version they are.

This game was originally going to only come out only on last gen/lower PC, thus everyone should be aware it's a cross gen game. It will push last gen to it's limits and only scratch the surface of next gen. It's not like it's going to be sistine chapel vs. some kid's MS paint version of it. There's really no need to show last gen since those people already know it won't look as good.

Should be noted they couldn't even say for sure what framerate ps3/360 will reach, just saying "we HOPE to get 30fps." I don't think it's completely out of the question to expect at least some lag. Like someone just said, what's more important is how it runs. So. . . Yeah.

Another nonsense thread...
It will look fine. Some of us have bills and can't afford to buy the next gens right away.
Never stoped to even think about that did ya OP?
Besides i don't need my game to look super pretty. Unlike some people.

Last gen consoles are 7/8 years old now. Your expectations are much too high. The next gen versions will most certainly not be a 12/10, neither will the PC version. DAI looks to be pretty average graphically. So long as a game isn't bad too look at I generally don't have a problem with graphics, it just needs to be acceptable. BW seems to have fixed the bad Skyrim ENB effects the earlier versions of the game had so I've got no serious issues with how the game looks at this point.

Asking any developper to make an amazing looking game on 10 years old hardware (512 mb of ram lulz) is like asking Picasso to make a masterpiece on a piece of cardboard.

Sure, he's talented so it's probably still going to look good. But it's not going to look as good as a proper painting. No amount of skill can overcome such a huge technical gap.

Look up Destiny 360/ps3, if BioWare does as good a job (which i believe they will) you have nothing to fear

Frankly, if the differences between the PS3/PS4 versions are like this, I won't have any problems whatsoever.

I'm not really all that hung up on graphics.  I mean, I didn't start using an HDMI cable for my PS3 until this year.  And I've had it for at least 4 years.  I'm sure that'll tell you something about how much I care about graphics.

As long as the game plays the same, and you get the same number of options, then what does it really matter?

Except in ps3's case, where it becomes a serious issue. Ps3 hardly has 512mb of ram, it's more split, which if you're bethesda can be a pain in the neck in the best of cases, a splitting headache in most cases.

Nobody should be surprised that the last gen console versions are inferior.

They should however be surprised and aggrieved that the inferior and gimped version is the same bloody price as the PS4/XB3 version.

Another shameless slice of consumer arse-beeping by the game industry.

Would you expect to pay the same amount for a DVD and a Blu-ray? Obviously you wouldn't.

I found some information about the 360-version:

http://help.ea.com/e...ge-inquisition/

If it's a great game on last gen as well I will buy it. Otherwise I will pick up Asassin's Creed Rogue.

Last year I played Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag  and GTA V on last gen. And to me they all looked great. The CPUs of 360&PS3 are not that bad compared to Xbox One and PS4. But the GPUs are way too old and slow.

Interesting slide by Ubisoft:
