Started playing Dragon Age 2 again, and I seem to have a case of disappearing character models. Or parts of them. Look at these Darkspawn:

Went and loaded up some older save games, and it's there too. Some of the Carta dwarves in Legacy are just floating heads, and a bronto was just a couple of spikes floating around.

What's going on? I tried clearing out my override folder and carefully reinstalling mods, but the problem persists.

1. Are you running with Dirrectx9 or 11? If you are running with 11, try lowering it to 9 and see if that works.

2. Have you tried different graphic settings? Try lowering or increasing them.

3. Did you try to play with an unmodded game? Did the problem persist?

4. What mods have you been using?  Anything which alters NPC gear/ changes texture resolution?

I see you posted on the Answer HQ, so you are more likely to get help there if none of this works.

If you're using an Nvidia card, it seems to be an error caused by their new drivers when running in DX11 mode. I just started getting the same thing with a recent driver update and I've seen this reported elsewhere.

Reloading your last save will often fix it for a time, but it's a nuisance. You could just run it with DX9, but IMO the graphics hit isn't worth it.

Yeah, it seems like it's some problem on Nvidia's end. I'll just crank it down to DX9, wasn't playing this game for the graphics anyway.

Thank the Maker Inquisition is running on a better engine.

I've had the same problem. According to a post I saw in an support thread, rolling your nvidia driver back to driver 340.52 should fix it. (Installed it. Seems to be working so far...)
