I have to say, the bits I've scanned over with the negatives on the story/companions is slightly concerning seeing as that's what I play a Bioware game for.   It still looks promising though...and reviewers can sometimes have a different train of thought than me...so I probably shouldn't worry haha.

Inquisition will most likely suffer the same fate as its predecessors. It’s a fun game that will probably never achieve a broad fan base, but there will be those that love the game and will go to great lengths to defend it with rabid aggression. All told, I was expecting more but I’m not really that surprised. I had fun and that’s what counts.

The review mentions it's even smaller than Denerim. I hadn't expected that. I never counted on Assassin's Creed sized cities, but for the capital of Orlais to be the size of a marketplace is pretty underwhelming. 

 

I think its more like that we only visit that particular area of the city. Its not supposed to represent the entire capital

This is painful not to read these. But I'm glad to see the mostly high numbers as well as the enthusiasm.

I like IGN and PC Gamer even less than before. They've been out of touch for some time.

To rate this game slightly above Divinity Original Sin for a weak plot is pathetic.

D:OS, as fun as some elements are, has such a boring story that many have admitted to

not finishing the game, including me (which rarely happens) -- even though I play the first half for combat.

Oh well..it's still mostly good news. *happy dance* I hope the reviews bring more new fans into the series.

What is going on with the ambivalence towards the main story? That's disturbing. I hope it's simply because these reviewers aren't hardcore fans, and thus don't have a firm understanding of the implications of certain revelations.

Well, at least two of the reviewers have highly praised the main story, and this kind of stuff is so subjective and since they can't give details..... I wouldn't worry about it yet, make your own calls on that.
