I feel like reviewers are divided on the story. Some have said it's incredibly fulfilling, and others are left scratching their heads.

That makes me think that maybe DAI is just not hand holding the player, and if you don't pay attention, you'll miss a lot. If that's the case, my already 200% excitement level has leveled up >.>

Yeah some reviewers played the game and some did not but rushed through it to make a deadline for a review.

Funny that some reviewers even admit that they didn't finish it and had more to do within the game.

That probably means it's ok. Which is....OK. Bioware's plots have rarely been more than serviceable. I did expect something better this time, but if not....well, we'll see.

I'm more concerned about this: the GameStar review called the Inquisitor "a domesticated hero with tame, fluffy dialogue" (translated by me). it appears as if I won't be able to say what I want in a rather major way.

I would be surprised if that were the case

BioWare has always let you be an ahole

not exactly what you are saying I know but I hope you get my point

I would also be surprised if reviewers had time to explore all the dialogue options

I would also wouldn't be surprised if some of the reviewers didn't even finish the game

they should have to post their progress screen or trophy screen with their review

and the menu's are pretty bad and clunky to use. About as bad as Skyrims menus.

Considering that we've seen enough of the PC UI in streams to know for a fact that this isn't true, that kind of makes their whole opinion suspect, imo.

We've seen them, true, but we haven't used them. And a lot of reviews have mentioned that the PC controls are clunky and hard to use and that DAI seems like it was made to be played with a controller.

I don't need to use them to be able to tell at a glance that they are better than Skyrim's. I've played Skyrim pre-SkyUI. I know exactly how bad it was. DAI is not that.

Just talking about Menus, of course.

Kotaku's Jason Schreier:

I can confirm that this is a stellar game -- one of the year's best -- but I'm surprised how many sites published full reviews before the PS4 patch that fixes all the freezes is live.

I fear we are "manipulated" by the reviews again.

I do not trust any of them right now. I red and watched a discussion with a journalist who was reviewing the game, he's not done yet mind you, but so far he says it feels a bit dissapointing. LOTS of filler content, LOTS of "dead people's notes" as he formulated a theory that it must be a Thedas culture that 90%  of dying people are leaving notes... with some quests related hikes in some cases.

He enumerated quit a few things that felt "meh" with the title, but all in all it felt decent. Most worrying though was the plot and discussions which at times felt like a railroad... damn.

I hope not, but you know what they say about hope...

Well a Metacritic Score above 85 means Bio Devs get bonuses so great news for them.

Read a couple of reviews, from game spot & IGN in particular & found them way too generalised. No in depth critique with specific examples form the game being discussed at length.

Just 8 or so paragraphs filled with buzz words "Even after 80 hours I'm still Just scratching the surface"  & other stuff which is parroted in every review so far.

They don't tell me what I want to know, just vague stuff with a 9 out of 10 slapped onto the end.

But reviews are just a quick buyers guide for players anyway so looks like here is where the in-depth break down & discussion is gonna take place. BSN  take it away!

As for the plot being lame, well DA:I's is as generic & Boring as you can get. Chosen one, save the world etc.

Expecting well written, compelling & complex plots from Bioware is just Silly at this point. They have shown a remarkable reluctance to steer away from Generic Hero Fantasy stories & even when they have, to say they struggle is putting it mildly.

Creating Compelling Companions is the only thing they do really well. Lets see if DA:I measures up to Bioware's pedigree in that regard.

Yep, besides all the hype and pleasant anticipation it's advisable to wait a few more days, preferably after release. We had all those praising reviews for DA II days before release and on day one and while it has its deserved fans it wasn't that flawless or awesome as it was portrayed.

So we should expect more reviews right? I mean this is just an early start of the reviews.

I don't know if this has been posted but here's Gamereactor Sweden. It's only a 7/10, the reviewer thought the story lacked impact, the environments were linear and felt boxed in. He also disliked the combat and voice acting.

I think some of his points may have to do with the fact that he's only been playing the game for 38 hours, from what I've understood from other reviewers; that's a speed run.

A lot of the big ones have been posted, but several outlets are waiting to finish the game, and I'm sure there'll be heaps of other reviews in the next week or so.

...and I would say other things are artifically elongating the game, from what I hear that is. Like I said, LOTS of filler content, so...

Thank the creators for you Ynq! Kind of odd that he's saying the complete opposite of everyone else in relation to...well everything really, yet he still gave it a 7? What did he like about it?

Well i played skyrim pre skyUI too and i disagree. Exspecially the inventory looks pretty bad inquisition. Having weapons and armors in so many different categories means it always takes extra long to equip anything. Additionally the lists were the items are listed are even smaller than skyrims, which makes it horrible to navigate on pc.

I have to say, it seems like it's been ages since the reviews have been released for a game this far in advance of the release date.

I don't know why I continue to use IGN as a "good" news source. They give DA:I a 8.8, but every COD game 9 or above. Really?

I think I glanced at that review. A lot of people have said nothing but good things about the voice acting. Well from your description it sounds like he didn't get past the first section. The beginning starts off being linear for a reason. Probably a guy who only plays shooters wondering why you couldn'y pull out a machine gun outt

I fear I will have to wait a bit longer to sift through all the hype-generated-reviews and look for the ones written with cool mind nad not opinionated. Which , either way, might be hard.
