Is that bug described by MMORPG with the shiny armor textures being applied to the skin PC only and is a fix being worked on?
No, the newest firmware update on the PS4 caused DA:I to freeze. A fix for that is being worked on

Sincerest congratulations to the entirety of the Dragon Age team. I cannot WAIT to get my hands on the game next Tuesday! ![]()
I mean, this entire thread is going over reviews and mostly review scores with a fine toothed comb, clearly the general public cares about what critics say,
Yep.
Fair enough that people say they don't read reviews to form an opinion of the game, but an awful lot of other people must click on them if gaming websites are still posting them.
And an awful lot of consumers must use reviews to guide their purchasing decisions, if publishers still feel that they're important enough to base contracts and bonuses on.
I have a heap of issues with games criticism and Metacritic in particular, but it's silly to pretend that they aren't an important or significant factor in a game's success and popularity.
Guys and Girls,
there is going to be an internet meltdown over Assassin's Creed Unity and DA:I will look even better in comparison.
Embargo ends in 14 minutes.
Can't wait.
Is Unity going to be that bad?
Hello everyone.
I'm Dawg, the reviewer from 4Gamers.be.
I just wanted to make a post saying I'm sorry for the spoiler in our review. We've edited the text now. I hope not too many people were spoiled by the bit in our intro. I'm very sorry in any regards, it wasn't my intention
Is Unity going to be that bad?
i'm enjoying it. for many it will go up there with the rest of the massively overhyped games this year.

I know about that, the MMORPG review described a bug apart from that involving the overly shiny armor affecting skin textures. It was one of their few cons for the game.
Is Unity going to be that bad?
Possibly. I fell out of favor with Assassin's Creed when they began milking it with the sequels to Assassin's Creed 2.
My biggest gripe with it is Unity itself seems like a boorish concept. That is the problem that's preventing me from really caring. Adding onto the fact that the big overhaul is the co-op from Watch Dogs...which was not exactly good for all players...makes it a bit less engaging to me.
Well see if it holds up, i'm not as hopeful as Inquisition.

Please tell me the tutorial's short?
Gave Unity a try myself. It's pretty sad to see a game that looks no better than any game before it run so poorly and look so poorly.

well the PS4 bug was the one Allan was talking about. why ask if that was the one Allan was referring too if you already knew?
I don't think I've ever bought a game based on a review. But I only buy a couple of games a year, if that, and I know what I like (and who makes it) so I've usually preordered everything I want long before reviews come out.
The only games I've ever felt "burned" by were wonky things I got out of bargain bins, and even then the sheer awful was usually entertaining enough that I didn't miss the five dollars all that much.
All these bug reports remind me that I should update my video drivers. I think I'll do just that.

Are you the person posting on NeoGaf?
You seemed to really enjoy the game , so I'm going to take a look at the review.^^
So far the general consensus seems to be that everything in the game is either good or great, but the actual plot is gonna be divisive among people.
That actually sounds about right. ME3 was definitive proof that their quality of writing has significantly dropped post EA absorption.
I would argue that divisive plot means that you have to think about it and could indicate a higher quality of writing.
There are lots of great novels that are divisive, people either love or hate them, Pride and Prejudice for example.
Of course equally they are terrible books that are divisive; Twilight.
People being divided on how good or bad a plot is doesn't automatically make it bad.
I wish the street date was lifted to now. I wannnnnnt it nowwwww.

For the plot the quality of writing has never been great. It's the character writing that matters, and Kevin VanOrd was VERY high on the characters.
New Polygon video: http://www.polygon.c...-gameplay-video (I haven't checked for spoilers yet so watch at your own risk)
Probably different reviewers looking for different types of things in different genres of game.
IGN got really scrutinized for giving DA2 and ME3 a high score and they got backlash because Jessica Chobot, one of their employees did the voice of Diana Allers for ME3. They are compensating.

well the PS4 bug was the one Allan was talking about. why ask if that was the one Allan was referring too if you already knew?
Because I wanted an answer from Allan since no one else in this thread is qualified to answer it. Is that complicated?
I did not ask if that was what Allan was referring to, I asked him if a fix was being worked on for another alleged bug.
TVtropes has seriously ruined things when some people are stupid enough to think that if something qualifies as a trope, it MUST therefore be bad. Pretty much everything can be boiled down to a trope or cliche.
Amen. I can't take anyone seriously when they invoke TVtropes as the end all be all of everything.

AC Unity didn't sparked my interest. It seem to be more like Assassins Creed 2 where you been running on roof tops and doing the same leap of faith in haystack. Not that I won't get it in the future but as a day one purchase, nah.
