Yeah, that's definitely true. For instance, they scored Tales of Xillia with a 96%, which is kinda... yeah.

What's wrong with Tales of Xillia? It's a great tales game, it was fun, and I think it deserved that score. As far as JRPGs go it was pretty top level especially in the context of a tales game and guess what, unlike Dragon Age: Inquisition, it doesn't use such tired cliche tropes as the chosen hero/chosen one or the hero with amnesia. Enemies become allies, allies become enemies, there's a sense of being overwhelmed by a goal that seems impossible. An important character is proved false and then killed, others lose their way, a big plot twist throws things on its head, and the solution isn't as simple as saving the world because doing so would destroy another.
Is it the deepest bestest story ever? Hell no, and we can't expect that from a JRPG, but it was interesting and well done. The game also had its share of flaws, but overall it was a lengthy game packed full of fun that deserves 8+ or 90+.
