I'm sorry if this has been mentioned already, but I haven't seen anyone talk about it.
It seems like there is a possibly big spoiler on IGN's video...

I think everyone should read this impressions article by The Verge http://www.theverge....ps4-impressions
Offers a fresh take on the game and the RPG genre in general, I liked it.. they're mainly a tech/science website but their editors occasionally talk about or review AAA games, they're under VOX so the same network as Polygon.
I hope it's true 'cause that's what I'm looking for.

Level-Up norwegian review 5/6 http://www.vgtv.no/#...sition-cod-aw/9
Interesting, the reviewer started off the bat by mentioning that he'd spent about 200+ hours in origins and 50-100hours in DA2. He also claims that the storytelling of the game is at least as deep as Origins, and that players who enjoyed the previous games but want a healthy mix of the two, will love this game. ![]()

84-89 on Metacritic atm. It's looking like a solid entry in the series then rather than a masterpiece, but I'll take that.

I'm kinda surprised more people don't seem upset by the timers. I mean some of them take a day. A day. I'm gonna assume that means there really is a LOT to do and these timegated quests aren't super important/main-quest related ones otherwise I'm gonna be peeved. I'm also gonna assume they didn't count them when they said the game is 80+ hours.

Remember it is entirely possible to make companions leave (or even potentially kill them) so don't read too much into that.

I like how one reviewer felt the combat lacked action lol.
Whats next, a reviewer complaining that a racing game lacks an epic story?
Which one was that?

True, but it still means we saw what "options" are available to some of them. It's kinda spoilery, I suppose.

Day? Really? It seemed that the longest operations take will 1 hour at most... well, at least it timer is still going when you are not playing the game, so it will make things a bit better.
...or simply fire up long operation, exit game, move system clock forward, problem solved ![]()

Xbox One(which has the 84) only has 10 reviews in right now, one being a 60. Once they're all in I think(could be wrong of course) all the averages will be around the high 80's. Not too dissimilar from Origins.

I assume if there isn't any complaining for it, it's not a big thing. It's just for side stuff, I cannot fathom Bioware putting long timers on main story stuff.

The longest operation timer I saw mentioned in a review was 16 hours, and from the context it seemed like an extremely important, "big" plot point.
So it seems like they're long-ish, but not crazy. AC4 Black Flag had something similar with its trading.

Just saw a Swedish prologue playthrough video, and the guys reaction once he understood how the "ear positioning" mechanic works in the CC was hilarious.
Oh god, his reaction to the color wheel for the eye color is also hilarious, lol.

I think we'll find the way they've set it up is we have a mission or task to do while the advisers/scouts are handling the request. That and I think this adds a level of immersion and realness to the game. Plus it appears that this timer continues to run even if you turn the pc off and go to sleep. So it's not like 16 actual in game hours till Leilana tells you what the spys did.

I won't mind the timers much (even main story ones >.>) IF there is a lot to do. But I mean I like being thorough (not completionist thorough but thorough) so if I've cleared most of the areas and now want to move on with the main story to unlock more areas I'm gonna be miffed if that takes 16+ hours. It seems silly. But yeah if it comes to that I'll do the clock skip thing.

Thanks for the replies to my question.
I'll be very interested in the following days to see the users' ratings as well.
DA2 still has a high enough metacritic but a very low user rating
