I assume if there isn't any complaining for it, it's not a big thing. It's just for side stuff, I cannot fathom Bioware putting long timers on main story stuff.
At least you are not being charged 'dawn' to move the timer forward 
(not criticising The Last Court, that is a different game model and delighted that isn't being done in the main game...)
Just saw a Swedish prologue playthrough video, and the guys reaction once he understood how the "ear positioning" mechanic works in the CC was hilarious.

really good. a few gripes but nothing major. the first page has a list of all the scores, i've seen nothing below an 8.

Really good. Honestly, the way most of the reviews have been written, I dare say were they to have been released a couple of years ago (prior to a relatively noteworthy widespread decision among most major sites to be a bit more realistic with their scores than they had been previously) the game would be even higher numerically. But yeah, really good for the most part.
The main dividing point seems to be the main story. Some love it, and some don't.
So... par the course for any BioWare game.

I'm kinda disappointed that it hasn't managed (yet) to reach the elusive 90 at metacritic i was hoping it would.

Do you have some kind of link about that? I'd like to read more about that decision and it's not very easy to Google. 
Thing is i've already developed a targeting solution for this game it's overuse of active sonar helped me identify what it was a long time ago( a game that would get 8s 9s and 4/5 across the board) and nothing not even a poor review would've stopped me buying it.

Forbes released part 1 of a review. I hate Forbes reviews of MMOs, but they do a much better job of reviewing single player games which they seem to understand better. Its a good read, especially that he was able to play with 4K settings on nearly max :-). Thats encouraging with unoptimized drivers :-).
