Second market day has triggered, but still no clue of "Rumors of a Bereskarn".
Or any other Big Game Hunt.
Smallfolk talks big about plots of revolution and forcing marriages over pre-teen girls to pay debts.
But they don't enjoy hunting.
So, my Huntress is pretty fed up with those pesky boars, and she needs a challenge.
Are there any big mouthed fellas, in this wicked tavern, that wish to share the proper path to start hunting down those beasts?
I unlocked a wyvern hunt in connection to the Dour Lordship storyline (a card I drew on market day). Still haven't managed to kill one, though!

Bereskarn still missing.
The Bereskarn doesn't show up till your 4th market day or so (forgot the exact number when it first showed up).
I just got the Berserkarn card, on my third market day, but picked the Dour Lordship card instead. I also got the wyvern hunt in relation to another storyline, but I'm not sure what unlocks it.
How many big hunts are there? I know there's the wyvern (which I've already unlocked) and the berserkarn, are there any more?
Welp, if there's one thing this thread has taught it's...that I've been pronouncing the word Bereskarn totally wrong. I always read it as berserkarn...you know...'cause the bears were totally berserk and...yeah.....
This is actually a damn shame; Tomorrow is last market day and the Divine arrives, and yet I've never met the "rumors of a Bereskarn" card at all.
I had a glimpse of hope when the "black claw" showed up, but it didn't work.
Then I thought of roaming the greenwood and asking lore to the villagers. Nope.
Damn shame.
Huntress, and can't even get a prized big game hunt properly.
If this is pure RNG, it's pretty dumb.

The Wyvern hunt unlocked, for me, because the Acerbic Dowager was poisoned, and after investigating it, I found she was poisoned using wyvern venom, and I needed a wyvern to cure it... That event happened shortly after I drew the Dour Lordship card on Market Day...
I got the Bearskarn card to show up with 3 market days remaining...
So I've got one market day left (triggering tomorrow) and today's market cards were a repeat of yesterday's (including a card that I remember using yesterday). Have I missed the Bereskarn card? I remember a card about a beserk book a few days ago, that I could have picked but didn't - was that it?

The BEHEMOTH book it might be.
It's one of the cheap ass cards, you can destroy it or give it to the purveyor of teas.
I don't know the Bereskarn card, never appeared, and no one was willing to share; but the only book I've seen was the Behemoth one.
That Bereskarn card isn't really all that interesting. It's just a hunt that gives more thropies. It takes more "points" to find him and more stats to kill him. I took that card and wasn't able to kill him but I still ended the game with 20 of each resource which is far more then you'll ever need, even if you break into the chantry (that'll cost you 5 of each).

Allright, but they put that option clear and loud in the Hunting page.
It isn't something Hidden from plain view like the Wyvern, that actually triggers almost without you noticing.
So, they taunt us for 7 days with "Look lad, yer goin' to hunt da beast", and in the end getting the card is pure RNG in the first place; that isn't good planning at all.
One of the first thing you notice, on day one, after entering the game, is that greyed out option to hunt down the Bereskarn. So it's normal to look for it. To crave for the hunt. Or just trying to plan a completionist path. Expecially RPing the Huntress.
But, in the end it's just plain RNG that shows that card at all.
And I've even tried it with a second account. Huntress and Scholar both, different market day cards, and yet no Bereskarn.

Immediately, so grab a different card.
It also seems if you fail the hunt you can't try again. It gives you a rumor and if you use it and fail that's it.
The information that I have regarding this card is that it is indeed a RNG to get it. The card from the market day actually pictures the same Bereskarn image that is in the hunting page. The card is labelled "A Terror in the woods".
Here is the information that I have.
It requires an extra action to begin the Bereskarn hunt.
Activating the Market Day card gives you +1 Bereskarn, and 10 clues.
It uses the +1 Bereskarn to begin the hunt which means if you fail, you will need to hope for another Market Day to give you the card again.
I sacrificed the element of surprise during the hunt.
The challenge for me required Derring-do.
I was a scholar.
My Derring-do = 34 + 20, gave me a 46% chance.
I succeeded, giving me 3 trophies, 10 dignity.

My hunt went a little differently. Also a Scholar, I hunted it... took the 4 extra hours, which turned out to be a good thing. You have to reach 20+ closing for it to even appear. The first time, I encountered it, I wounded it, but it escaped, but I encountered it again with 2 hours of sunlight remaining and was able to finish it off. 3 Trophies as well.
