I saw in a game play movie and they talked about it more heavily for Multiplayer but yes. The one I saw he needed a warrior to bash down a weak wall and he needed a rogue to open some locked things And I think it required a mage to fuse some pieces together to make a key to a special vault room to get treasure.  So all 3 classes are still valuable to use exploring loot whores.

True.  The Barrier Spells seem as essential as healing at this point.  Which would beg the question, why just swap healing for barrier if healing was working?

Different combat mechanics. The limited healing forces tactical thinking over a longer period of time rather than on a battle-per-battle basis. Damage prevention also forces you to focus more on what the enemy is doing, as you want to use that barrier right before the giant golem uses his big damage punch and not waste it on the small punches. With healing, you'd just heal after the fact.

I didn't like playing as a rogue in DAO, but I loved it in DA2. And in Inquisition it sounds even more fun so no doubt my first playthrough will be a rogue. I mean, we can finally throw knives!

Well I have no problem playing a rogue, I was just wondering if it's required or not.  I mean could a party of four mages be effective and not miss out on a lot of stuff?  Or all warriors?  It just seems sometimes if you don't play with at least one of each class type, you are just not playing right.  Looks like a party of four needs a Tank, a DPS (could be rogue/daggers or 2HW), a mage and another ranged (mage or rogue/archer).  Anything outside of that will have problems.

It's always a good idea to bring along at least one rogue, one warrior and one mage because if not you will miss out on things. Maybe not so much on previous games but in Inquisition it will matter because only mages can fix bridges and only warriors can bring down walls (and as you know, only rogues can pick locks). So if you're planning on exploring a lot, you will eventually come to an impasse if you don't have one of them.

I think it looks like you can play the game with a wide array of combinations. That said, for 100% exploration, you may need to come back with a Rogue for locks, a Mage for bridges/light sources/whatever, or a Warrior for knocking down walls, but I don't think I'll mind coming back in this open-world anyway.

Ok. Rewatching a couple of old feeds and stuff. Particularly a Twitch feed with some of the dev's playing.  I saw earlier in this thread asking if daggers only came in pairs because they never seem mis-matched.  They had a rogue that they were showing stuff off on and he had two different daggers equipped and in one spot they pick up another and say they weren't going to switch it out because they were already using better.

So from that it seems we will still be able to equip them individually.  It may be a little more of an asthetics issue if they all basically look the same all the time on release... could even be something like the mainhand one picks how they look or something.

Brings to question say Solas and Viv both cast Barrier, does that mean that the active barrier on other players is 2 times as powerful?
