I started making some decisions this episode.  Not sure how they'll pan out for me, but I'm deciding allies now.

 

Rodrik - I'm putting all of my trust into Gwyn Whitehall.  I'm not sure why, but I'm trusting her.  There's a chance that she's playing me, but I feel like I have to start picking a strategy and going with it, so I decided to ally with her and take her advice.  I'm still hoping that my alliance and betrothal will add some extra support.  I'm also fully trusting Duncan as well. 

 

Mira - I'm going all in with the Coal Boy.  While I like Sera, I don't think for a second that she won't sell me out the moment that Margaery puts the screws to her.  Margaery clearly isn't someone I can put my trust in.  And Tyrion is a persona non grata now.  I'm planning on using that saved Writ as leverage to ally with the Ironwood guy.  Mira's got to start playing the game and Margaery has shown that, while she's supportive, she's only supportive to a point.

 

Asher - While I like Uncle Malcolm, I won't sacrifice Beskha.  She's my comrade in arms and I'm totally on her side.  I think I can make that work, though. 

 

Gared - I'm all in with Cutter (I think that's his name; the wildling thief).  I trust him.  I've got a good feeling about him, so I'm planning on going through with the plan to desert and allow him to guide me to the North Grove. 

 

There is a solid chance that I'm getting played by at least one of these people, but I'm willing to ride it out and see what's up.  Also, I'm totally eyeing the Maester as the traitor.  I got a bad feeling about him back in Episode 1.

Lady Forrester is the traitor. She always asks questions, has a habit of going against what she is told and has emotional outbursts that cause her to have lapses in judgement (I told her to stay hidden when the troops were re-enacting Ethan's death and what does she do? She comes out and starts yelling). One thing that really irritates me is that she sends Malcolm to Essos even if you give the order not to, ignoring the lord is pretty much treason isn't it? She states to Gared something along the lines of "I heard you were the last one to see Lord Forrester alive" however as far as we know, Gared never stated such to anyone at that point in the game.

 

She also knew that last words were exchanged between Forrester and Gared, furthermore when I view Forrester's death again, I found it odd how none of the soldiers chased after Gared after killing him. To add another layer to this, maybe Britt got sent to the wall for attacking Gared, because it might have been suspected by Bolton or Whitehill that Gared would have received a message of some importance from Lord Forrester to do with the Ironwood and they were hoping that he'd relay it to Lady Forrester who in turn would relay it to them. 

 

I actually have a theory that her and Lord Whitehill are or were doing the nasty. I've just went through all 3 episodes again and in episode 1 it's really suspicious to me how Lord Whitehill's tone changes when she gets on to him. I'm also starting to suspect that there may be a twist to where a few of the Forrester children might actually be her and Whitehill's kids. That could certainly add a new element to why Asher was exiled, you know, because if true him and Gwyn would have been brother and sister. I also feel like Talia, Asher and Ryon look a bit like Gwyn, I could just be seeing things though.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

She's stated that she'll do anything to get Ryon back and that causes me to believe that she might have leaked the plans to either expel Gryff or to Rescue Ryon because she was afraid that Ryon would be hurt/the rescue operation would fail and Ryon would be hurt. She also uses ravens all the time, which gives her a means to get the messages to Whitehill. Furthermore, when I told her that I knew there was a traitor, she kept trying to press about how I knew and got upset when I wouldn't tell her. That's exactly the sort of reaction I would expect from a traitor on the verge of being found out.

 

Maybe she was hoping to be rid of Lord Forrester and to end up with Whitehill with her children so that they could have peace and she wouldn't have to worry about them dying, but things got out of hand (she didn't intend for Ethan to die and Ramsay Snow take Ryon)? Maybe the traitor development is a recent thing and was born out of desperation to save Ryon? I don't know, but I find her suspicious and I certainly find it odd how Lord Forrester had Gared deliver the message to only Duncan and not his wife too. Perhaps, Lord Forrester didn't trust his wife and the reason that Duncan hasn't mentioned the Grove to Rodrick is because he worries that it would get back to Lady Forrester?

I hope the Forresters get to bro it up with Stannis next season when he shows up in the north.

That's Asher's role. And as you can tell his being good at killing and quite flippant is what got him as far as it did with the mercs. I'm talking about Rodrik actually ruling. The Whitehills might very well do something long before Asher gets there. Especially if they think Rodrik is weak.

Think its possible Ironwrath gets bum*expletive*'d by the Whitehills, most everyone's dead, Asher shows up with his army and is like the *expletive* happened here, learns from a mortally wounded survivor, then goes and wipes them out with an army at his back?

I love the ending, was one of the singular best character moments I've experienced in a very long time. Getting to see Ser Royland try and take out that little **** was in itself great, but Rodrik standing up after getting kicked over and over and over again was amazing. Gryff showed himself as a mindless blind rabid dog biting everything that moves while Rodrik stood as a man and a true lord that will not bow or bend to anyone.
 

If Stannis is iron then so is Rodrik.

Who do y'all think the traitor is? The maester seems to obvious. Royland isn't my sentinel, but he really doesn't seem the type. Duncan neither. Though, who knows.

Case of too obvious, right? Dude seems totally dedicated to Ironwrath with his hotheadedness and eagerness to take the fight to the Whitehills. Sure he's antagonistic(which is where the obviousness comes in), but who knows.

More a case of the dude is not the type. If he was going to betray you, he'd punch you in the face, not stab you in the back. 

 

Also, as mentioned above, he's willing to take on all the Whitehills for you single handed when they're knocking Rodrik around. That ain't no traitor.

Hard to beat Rodrik at this point. Way I'm playing him, the dude has balls of Valyrian Steel. Serious BAMF. The Whitehills best be praying he stays crippled.

Also, his voice is sexy.

Toss up between Rodrik and Gared. I shouldn't really have to explain why Rodrik since most people do like his POV the most from what I've seen on the TellTale forums.

But I'm also getting into Gared's story not for the Grove, but the fact that it's The Wall and I know Stannis shows up at The Wall soon.

Asher -- He's the only one I feel has a personality out of all of them. A said personality that leans towards a Han Solo-esque roguish type which I can definitely dig. Although, Rodrik is really coming into his own too which is nice.

Noticed Laura Bailey was in this one too -- I imagine that was something she were ecstatic about given her adoration for R. R. Martin's writing -- Although that is one dreadful working class accent she's doing as Lady Whitehill.

Speaking of Stannis, the fact that he ends up liberating the region of the North where Ironrath is makes me feel like everything the Forresters do is ultimately kind of pointless, as the White Hills would end up getting kicked out anyway.

 

Anyway, Rodrik is easily the best character, He also wins points with me by being the only one who isn't buddying up with characters from the main story - I mean seriously, what is this, Forrester Gump?
