Maybe they'll have a third party speak to both of them so they don't be in the same room together :P

Possible. It's how they did it with Ethan and Gared.

Would be kinda weird, though. I guess Asher could stay out on the field with his men while Rodrik is in Ironrath recovering. You'd think they'd meet at some point in any event.

Asher's gonna have to do the fighting on behalf of Rodrik. I don't see him ever doing it within the story unless there's a time jump.

They dropped a lot of "When you're better, things will be different..." lines this episode, so I imagine it'll happen at some point.

But...with the amount Rodrik should have been injured by a horse crushing him, it's remarkable he's as well as he is even now. :S

I'm starting to think he might get caught up with Daenerys too (unfortunately) because Telltale doesn't seem to want to have two POV characters in the same room, and I'm not sure how they'd make that work with Asher and Rodrik.

In their Jurassic Park game (which I do not recommend, btw; I only played it because it was on sale for $1) there was actually one segment where two of the playable characters are having an argument, and you control both sides of the conversation, essentially arguing with yourself and countering your own statements. It was very strange, but also sort of hilarious.

Imagine if he pulled off a surprise.

Like, he's got his crutch, the Whitehills laugh at him, the camera is under him facing the Whitehills, then a close up on the Whitehills and they're HORRIFIED.

Camera goes to a shot of the whole of Rodrik. He's standing tall, Sword in one hand, crutch in the other. And he drops the crutch, staring right at them with a grin. Drogo style.

Random Whitehill- "Oh *expletive*"

You know what happens next. Teaches Asher how its done. hahaha

That...lol. That sounds like playing chess against yourself or something.

I guess Tales from the Borderlands does it without it being too bothersome.

True. Still, would be a bit of an owie.

He also survived the long trek from The Twins to Ironrath on the back of a corpse cart without food and water or anything though, so it's pretty well established that Rodrik is just ridiculously badass.

I kind of want Rodrik to beat the everloving **** out of Gryff with his crutch now.

Breaks the crutch over his skull, takes the sharp end of it post-break and shoves it straight through his neck.

And then as he looks straight at Gryff as he's dying:

"Looks like your day...just got Ruined."

I do get the feeling Rodrik is going to do something impressive physically despite his health predicament at some point, yeah. They built him up as the best fighter in Ironrath by far and away all throughout the first episode, along with being an exceptional military commander, so on so on.

I guess it's possible the point was to dangle that in our face and then swipe it away by making him a ruined cripple, but still. Ezio Auditore killed a man with a lute, surely Rodrik can manage savagely murdering someone with a crutch.

If Telltale really wants to capture the kick to the groin of Game of Thrones, the Ep. 5 ending will revolve around Asher dying. Think about it - he's the most conventional protagonist-like of the cast. And in Martin's world, that generally marks one for death.

I know you're all actually referring to Whitehill, but regardless, all these posts talking about "Gryff" have given me a strange mental image of Rodrik inexplicably beating on Jon Connington. Who I guess doesn't even exist in this universe, sadly.

I'd actually argue Gared is the most conventional protagonist we have. Boy from humble origins growing up hoping to be a big-shot hero. Easily relateable, physically capable.

I reckon he's the Jon Snow of the Telltaleverse.

What a reference if Telltale's Gryff drinks himself to death.

He's being built up as this last hope for everyone. So him dying and Malcom and Beskha having to carry on in his stead - one of whom is maimed - is very much in the spirit of the series (books and TV).
