I'd actually argue Gared is the most conventional protagonist we have. Boy from humble origins growing up hoping to be a big-shot hero. Easily relateable, physically capable.

I reckon he's the Jon Snow of the Telltaleverse.

He's ABSOLUTELY following in Jon Snow's footsteps until he goes for the North Grove.

He's being built up as this last hope for everyone. So him dying and Malcom and Beskha having to carry on in his stead - one of whom is maimed - is very much in the spirit of the series (books and TV).

Oh DAMN now I REALLY haven't considered that.

*expletive*

That would be badass.

Gwyn finds out it was a Whitehill assassin sent by her father and she personally sees to his horrific death.

Not to mention Gared has had an avenging his family storyline already. He ticks all the conventional hero boxes.

That ended quickly though. :S

There are a few important differences between him and Jon, though that gets into fan theories about, say, R+L=J.

If Telltale really wants to capture the kick to the groin of Game of Thrones, the Ep. 5 ending will revolve around Asher dying. Think about it - he's the most conventional protagonist-like of the cast. And in Martin's world, that generally marks one for death.

Can't say I agree with that analysis - Jon Snow and Daenerys have always seemed like the most "standard protagonist-y" characters in the books, and if they don't both make it into the second half of the final book, I'll be completely shocked.

Well yeah, I don't mean to say he's a Targaryen or anything, but just the gist of his role.

Gared kind of reminds me of someone who'd be a protagonist in...any fantasy RPG, actually. Not to say he's bad, just how I feel about him. :S

Same. Can't see either dying until the climax of the final novel.

Dany can't sit the throne, she'd be ripped to shreds just looking at it

Nothing says she has to win, necessarily.

Gotta wonder what will happen to the internet if Dany's story was just a bait and switch all along and Drogon turns around and eats her when she gets to Westeros.

There will be cheering and crying both. I...might giggle a bit.

Troll ass GRRM is gonna have the White Walkers bring Drogo back to life as one of them and then Undead Drogo smothers her.

And Jorah would then officially be friendzoned forever. ;_;

As if he already isn't.

Senpai will never notice him. ;___;

Speaking of which, I'm surprised that only 20% or so of players kicked that guy off the Wall. I mean really, that option was just begging to be picked.

I guess it's like how back in TWD, almost nobody picked the similarly irresistible-to-me option of kicking the cannibal into the electric fence, which I never understood either.

Senpai still won't notice Jorah, and Gendry will still be rowing his boat.

That is all I predict.

I did that in retrospect. Thought it would be a nice way to dispose of evidence, too. Kill two birds with one stone and all.

But then, Finn.

He'll wash up on the Iron Islands, where he'll meet up with the only other surviving character: Balon Greyjoy.

My prevailing theory has always been that Gendry read the signs wrong, made a wrong turn, and accidentally rowed across the Narrow Sea. Arya will encounter him in Braavos, confused.

He'll basically be getting hanged anywhere he goes from now on. Not sure what they're gonna do about that.

I guess he could join Mance Rayder's army.

Cotter convinces him? Who knows. Would probably be OOC, but it would be interesting if done right. :S
