Will it have a female character too? And if so, only one? Wouldn't be surprised at all.... -_-

It's a little disappointing to me that all our protagonists will be in the same family. Part of why I don't like AGOT as much as most of the later books is how it centered almost completely around the Starks instead of the focus being spread amongst all the different houses and factions.

Still, though, I'm intrigued; I hope they actually follow through on the promise that the choices in the different storylines will impact one another. And I also wonder what any member of a Northern house is going to be doing in Essos.

Well, it's at least from vastly different viewpoints I imagine. There was a mention of one scenario taking place at the Wall, meaning one in the family could be a man of the Night's Watch, perchance.

New information about the game: http://www.telltaleg...le-games-series

Master Ilen isn't going to ask me to retrieve the bark of these trees, is he?

House Forrester is apparently mentioned in A Dance of Dragons, apparently some Forrester men are currently with Stannis' snowbound army in the books.

So, they said the events will be toward the end of the TV series season three all the way through four to just before the start of 5?  So that's...

End of Season 3:

  • Red Wedding (Oh!  They're northerners, I'm betting one of the Forrester will be with Robb's army and escape into the woods or end up a prisoner)
  • Danni's just starting her conquest of Slaver's Bay (Though I'm not sure I want to get bogged down in that...)
  • Bran's on his way north (Which would take him right by where Ironrath is supposed to be located)
  • And the Wildlings are headed to the Wall

So lots of interesting things to start out with.  I'm guessing the story will find its own thread, but things in Season 4 it could run in parallel to:

  • Joffrey's Wedding (I wouldn't say no to watching Joffrey die, again )
  • Oberyn in King's Landing ( B))
  • Arya and the Hound's Wandering Adventures (Potentially interesting, as a northern noble might recognize Arya)
  • Briene and Podrick's Wandering Adventures ( ^_^)
  • Ironmen in the North
  • Petyr takes Sansa to the Vale (Ick )
  • Mance finally attacks the Wall and Stannis arrives at Wall
  • Bran finds the three eyed Raven and Arya heads to Braavos.

I was a little worried about them stretching themselves thin with this five character - six episode storyline stretched out over a whole season of GoT, but now that I think of it I don't think a whole lot of time actually passed through both seasons and they'll probably be a time skip.

It has certainly peeked my interest for sure. Have enjoyed the previous Telltale installments and hopefully this one will deliver as well. Though this time around my expectations are considerably higher.

Anyhow, looking forward for the first episode to release.

Probably a Bastard too.

In that case, who wants to go and get all buddy with Jon?

I hope not all of them are dudes so i can play as a woman. :D

If its anything like the books/TV series the characters should be of both genders. A Song of Ice and Fire doesn't lack for strong female characters.

I just hope the episodes are twice as long as, say, the Walking Dead episodes so they have time to do interesting things with all those characters :?

I'm guessing that each episode will be devoted to a single character, since there are five episodes and five playable characters.

It's actually six episodes. My guess is the sixth episode will be bring the whole story together, and be different depending on our choices.

From the Telltale blog

Additional details on the series and its upcoming premiere episode, 'Iron From Ice' are forthcoming. Stay tuned here to the Telltale Games Blogtwitter, and Facebook pages for more information as we approach the premiere, the first of six episodes, which will be arriving for download soon on PC/Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and iOS, with additional platforms to be announced

Hmm... Not sure how I feel about that.

I hope I have the fortitude to wait until it's all out an buy it on sale. It's going to be a challenge, but I don't think I can stand another release cycle like TWD and the delays.

Have to agree, just like with the books and its usage of POV characters, if one doesn't find said character interesting or its developments, it will be more of a struggle than an enjoyment to get through that particular episode.

Yeah, I could see this happening.  Five unique stories with the earlier ones influencing what's to come.  Then they all come together in the sixth episode.

They also state that you aren't just members of the House, but servants as well.  I'm sure that there will be at least two female characters.  In TWD, Clem is the protagonist of the second game and the 400 Days DLC had two out of five of the characters as females (three out of six if you count the ten minutes you play as Tavia, but I don't).

I'm excited for this.  Going to be interesting.  I like Telltale Games and I like GoT, so it seems pretty solid from my perspective.

Well if anyone can do a ASOIAF/GOT game properly, it's Telltale. I wonder what terrible fate awaits House Forrester, heh.

I'll have to share chid's interest on playing a woman. What's great about ASOIAF is that because of its context, it can deal with lots of issues pertaining sexism/patriarchy and such.

Though it's hard to handle, I'd like to play as a Westerosi woman. One of the advantages of the interactive medium is that you can really feel immersed into the story. One thing is reading about a woman and the other is experiencing it through your actions.

So yeah. I hope there's at least ONE.

I'd still be weary. Though TWAU was an excellent game, now that I have a fair amount of knowledge about the source material they did kind of butcher Bigby as a character.

Still, this isn't Bigby, it's a House we've never seen in the books/series and therefore characters that are complete blanks. Telltale know how to write decent characters (and sometimes excellent ones.)

Aye, I also would like one of the playable characters to be a woman. Regardless of her position in society, she'll still have to deal with the heavy sexism of the world of A Song of Ice and Fire(naturally given the setting) but hopefully she can be portrayed as a strong character like so many of the women in the novels are.

I also hope that there won't be some massive backlash towards the treatment of women in the series with people insinuating there's some goal to make them look weak. I'm actually surprised that GRRM has managed to get a pass from this after Game of Thrones brought his universe into the mainstream.

Though I'll be honest, some of the mainstream fans of Game of Thrones can still be ridiculous even these days.

"Is George R. R. Martin done writing the new Game of Thrones book? Its been so long since the one I didn't read and won't LOLOL books suk"

*I would summon the ASOIAF forces of darkness and sic them on someone if I had to hear someone say that again*

The thing is, Martin has become a social phenomenon. Just like Tolkein. No matter what you say, you cannot dispute him in normal conversation between regulars.

NO ONE will dare doubt the magnificence of Tolkein's lore, even if the lore being compared to his is far more expansive. And the same goes with Martin xD

So I guess that's how he avoids your typical backlash (in the masses of course, I'm sure there's still some) because there mere mention of the dude is synonymous to unconditional quality.

Oh and I hope it doesn't get backlash too. Though doubtless there'll be "TellTales is sexist" posts on x, y and z. It's unavoidable.

Hopefully it just won't be in the masses.

I don't know why so many of you are doubting whether there's going to be any playable female characters; it's not like either GRRM or Telltale have tended to avoid using female protagonists. Calling it now, the gender split for this game is going to be 3 males to 2 females (which is pretty much the exact same ratio for POV characters in ASOIAF).

I was expecting 4 to 1 male to female if not just five male characters. Mainly because this is normally the trend in games.

Having two female protagonists would be wild. Three would be spectacular.
