So, I'm guessing that the traitor is

whoever Ethan does not pick as Sentinel. I say this because I got Rowland but there is a really strange transition during the talk with him. One scene he is standing in front of us, the next he is the oposite end of the room, with his back to Rodrik. I assume this was a space meant for him to accuse me of things I did wrong like laying down or not taking the Glenmore soldiers with me. However, since I, apparently, made all the choices he is happy with, he has nothing to point out except that Ethan picked Duncan as the Sentinel.

 

Is it impossible to save Finn beyond leaving his behind at Castle Black?

Give me but the options and Twyin Lannister will rise from the grave and say "Woah, dude. That was a bit much, don't you think.

They'll write a whole bloody symphony entitled "The Rains of Highpoint" and it will become the Necronomicon of Westeros.

I saved Asher because, as satisfying as it would have been to, literally, curbstomp Gryff's head with Rodrik, the Glenmores have abandoned us so, the marriage is pointless. I just stuck with it because breaking it up at this point would have been a dick move. Rodrik has nothing, tactically, to offer. Asher has the pitt fighters.

Besides, Asher should open dialogue options with Gwyn. Maybe even have him kill ehr personally.

 

BTW, it was really subtle of Telltale to injure Asher's leg so, regardless of whoever you save, he won't be in top condition.

I'm not planning on killing Gwyn.  So far, she hasn't done House Forrester wrong.  She came to Ethan's funeral.  She warned me of the traitor.  She gave me insider advice to appease Ludd.  So far, she's been a solid ally and I trust her (mostly).  The fact that she apologized to Rodrik when Ludd threatened Ryon was enough for her to show her true colors to me.  She risked his wrath to show me sympathy in a critical moment and I'd like to repay that kindness.

 

I'm hoping that Asher's death at the hands of her brother (and likely ordered by her father) will be enough for her to officially jump ship and take down the Whitehills from within, provided that the house remains standing with her as the new "Lady" when the smoke clears.  If she's willing to go along with that, with the agreement of peace going forward, then I'm willing to let her live.  In fact, I'd like this to be outcome.  I'd even meet her partway and cut her in on the ironwood trade as part of the negotiations.

 

If, however, she won't allow me to take my revenge on Ludd and Griff and/or actively thwarts any of my plans, she'll be a regrettable casualty of this conflict.  To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised to see her dying at the hands of Ludd, himself at some point.  Not intentional, mind you, but something to spur the storyline for those who kept Asher.

I find it hard to believe that the pit fighters will abandon Rod after their men just got killed by the Whitehills and they've nowhere else to go. I suppose they could go randomly pillaging, but the end result of that is capture and/or death. At least this way they can get paid and have their vengeance - especially Beshka. If anything, I could see 'em giving us a choice, 'cause my Rodrik is more bloodthirsty than all of the mercs put together - including Asher, so he wouldn't chastise them. But if someone played their Rod as more diplomatic then the mecs leaving could be an interesting consequence. That's all assuming Telltale put a good amount of thought into it, and we won't know that until the next episode.

I spared the asian fighter and gave a speech on protecting innocents because I feared unleashing yet another Bloody Mummers on Westeros. Unfortunately, the effect semeed to be that Asher's control of them was strained. Removing him seemed, to me, the same as removing the only thing keep the pitt fighters from descending into savagery.

I get the feeling that it's more based on how "paragon" or "renegade" one plays as, since you can still follow the non-sentinel's advice.

It seems like it is based entirely on Ethan's choice.

 

I had Ethan choose Duncan, but had Rodrik agree with Royland more often than not. Rodrik also beat Gryff to a bloody pulp and and was defiant with Ludd every time, both of which are totally up Royland's alley, yet Royland was the turncoast and still gave the "you've made nothing but wrong decisions" speech. He also accused Rodrik, the guy who beat Gryff, refused to stay down, and who refused to kiss Ludd's ring as being 'weak.'

 

I think the tratitor reveal was very poorly handled by Telltale. I think it would have played out better had the maester or Lady Forrester turned out to be the leak, as having either one of them turn out to be the traitor wouldn't have conflicted with player choices. The way it plays out now it is potentially out of character for either Royland or Duncan to be the traitor, considering Rodrik could have done nothing but follow either one's advice.

That's funny, 'cause when Gwyn first told me about the traitor I immediately thought it was the Maester. I remembered during Ethan's meeting with his council that the Maester was the only one that suggested giving the enemy Ironwood as payment - and both of the possible Sentinels were against him. I figured he was the most likely candidate, 'cause unlike Royland's 'stand-up-for-ourselves' attitude and Duncan's diplomacy tactic, his was simply pay 'em off to leave us alone and hope they don't come back anytime soon.

 

Fortunately, in my playthough I sided with Royland and chose all of the aggressive/rebellious choices - so Duncan's problems with Rod in my playthrough made sense. However, releasing our only bargaining chip and not telling anyone about the Whitehill ambush did not. There was no guarantee that the Whitehills wouldn't ambush Asher if we released Gryff, and thus Duncan's plan to save the House by getting both Rod and Asher killed was stupid.

 

Another, smaller thing that bugged me was the fact that I bashed Gryff's head in with Rod's walking stick - including his eye, and the next time we see him his face is scar- less. Either he has a really good maester, or he's wearing tons of make-up and a fake eye.

I agonized over that choice. Rodrik was my favourite character...but I dunno, somehow it felt more fitting for Asher to make it out? He has the loyalty of the bulk of the Forrester army now. Rodrik the Ruined kept the house standing until Asher arrived, who is probably the type of leader house Forrester needs now, someone who will show no mercy whatsoever. Rodrik dies so that can happen.

Now he just needs a new title posthumously. Hopefully the next episode has Rodrik honoured properly like that badass, albeit brief, lord he was.

 

Anyone else have Rodrik make the sacrifice despite him being their preference too?

Of the two, I liked Rodrik more, but when faced with the choice it felt more natural to me that Rodrik would be the one to sacrifice himself so that his brother and entire house could live on. Not to mean that I think Asher wouldn't ever do that, but at least with the way I've been playing them both, Rodrik is far more likely to commit heroic acts of sacrifice than his brother. My vision of Asher would also do the same thing, but it's not second nature to him in the same way that it is to Rodrik who I feel wouldn't even think for a second about it and make the choice for the both of them long before Asher has a chance to.

So apparently there's a non-canon ending where both Forrester brothers charge into the fray together.

 

I expected extreme badassery but sadly they die in about ten seconds.

 

 

 

I call BS. It should have been a canon option, where they kill absolutely everyone there before dying themselves tbh. Damnit Telltale.

Same, I do like Rodrik better but he Asher had some of the best lines so far.

I did the opposite as Snook.  I much prefer Asher because he's way more charming and likeable and I love his relationship with Beshka.  I played him fiercely loyal to her, even over family since he viewed her as his real family after getting exiled.  Plus, he's a good looking guy, way better looking than Rodrik.

 

But I just couldn't allow myself to let Rodrik meet his end at Gryff Whitehill's hands.  No. Way.  Even if it meant sacrificing my favorite character.  I couldn't let Rodrik go out like that and I certainly couldn't give Gryff the satisfaction.

 

With the added hope that Asher's death would spark a fire in Beshka that would make her (and the new 'army') to stay loyal to the Forrester until they avenged him.  As well as hoping that his death at the hands of her brother (likely ordered by her father) would make Gwynn take action to support the Forresters as well.  But that's unclear at this point.

It would be an interesting parallel to her mother's story. The Branfields were on the wrong side of Robert's Rebllion, and she and Malcolm were the only survivors.

He's the guy that beat the **** out of the boy bullying Ethan - without a second thought. He has no interest in being a lord, either. Asher staying behind is right, and a good ending to his story - tragically so. Rodrik, however, is still on the upswing, and is the right person to see this out.

Too early to know.  So far, there's really only been two major character deaths

that have been directly caused by PC decisions and those  both happened in the last episode.  All of the deaths that have happened earlier were either unavoidable
