i find this to be terribly unfair. the entire PC and PS4 playerbase miss out on a great chance at previewing the game (and we're ALL drooling at the thought of such a chance) and it all is the result of same damned EA sectarian partnership with microsoft. this just rubs me the wrong way. for a multi-platform game, giving one group a privilege that is completely exclusive and impossible for all the rest of the playerbase to get access to is a terrible idea. this isn't like the "exclusive" stuff that PS4 players got with destiny. everyone eventually gets that stuff. this is a one time deal and then gone.  :(

EDIT: oh, and everything they do remains, all progress saved and what not. *feels of being a secondclass fan intensify*

It's actually because Sony rejected EA Access when it was offered.

Not sure about PC.

Its no different then system exclusives where a game isn't released on other systems.  It is worse at times. Sometimes it is a whole 6 months or more after release on one system.

Its just the nature of the beast. And no I don't own an xbox.

It's unfortunate and it used to bother me. Now, I've become a more patient person and thus I don't care.

Frankly I find waiting till the 18th more palatable than playing early but only for 6 hours. I took vacation from the 19th onward and I want to BINGE.

At this point, it's mere days and you'll have the FULL game  at your disposal.

Take comfort in the fact that as you get a bit older, you will know longer feel offended or upset by something someone else gets that you don't.    Ask yourself this... if you didn't know about the Early Access would anything have changed for you?

Getting upset because someone gets something earlier than you or for a different price than you, doesn't actually affect you in any way.

Wait... You mean that when DAI actually comes out, those that didn't have EA access won't ever be able to play the first six hours of the game?

Are you prepared to complain about how reviewers get a free copy of the game, how you should get a free copy of the game as well(because, reasons), and how you're a "second-class fan" because of your lack of getting a free copy of DAI?....  Because this sounds like pointless complaining, otherwise...

This.

Honestly, I'd find the waiting WORSE if I participated in early access. Look at it this way TC: You get early access on the 13th and you dive right in. Juuuuuuuuuuuust as the game starts getting good BAM "We're sorry but you've hit your 6 hour mark." Now you've got to wait until the 18th to start playing again. But you've already gotten a taste and now you're REALLY hungry for more. THAT would be worse to me than just waiting until the 18th.

Yeah, early access is nice but a double-edged sword.

I prefer to think of the EA Access players as my guinea pigs.

Six hours should be enough to get a feel for most of the non story related things in the game to see if they're as good as they look to be.

The biggest benefit is it gives Bioware a chance to do a large-scale controlled test on the Keep and, hopefully, resolve any issues that pop up before the 18th.

By the time you've been playing the game for 3 hours you will have completely forgotten about your indignant little temper tantrum. Trust me.

I'm a little surprised people are still shocked by these things happening. I see things like this happen all the time now, and I've learned not to care. It doesn't look like it's going to change, and it's not like they pulled the game from the PS4 or anything... so I'd just roll with it honestly.

Not all of us, no. I'd rather get the game on release and be able to play as much as I want of it when I want and not be restricted on a 5 hour timer and then having to wait to play more of it.

I already know I'm going to get the game and I know from what I've seen that I'll enjoy it. I don't need or even really want a preview or demo. I just want the full game.

This is completely missing the point. The more people try and justify a shady tactic in an attempt to seem wise or patient, the more those who use those tactics will take advantage of you. The point is to speak up and show disdain for something BEFORE it gets blown out of proportion, not once the damage is already done.

To be fair, it's not going to change as long as anybody who actually speaks out against these kinds of practices gets told to suck it up because it's "not that bad".
