I do really like the patched Crusader, and I think it is a criminally underrated gun....but it just doesn't have that boom factor. :(

 

It's a pretty good candidate for phasic rounds too, which is handy as I have way too many of those and not enough one-shot SR's to use them on.

Crusader is a shotgun I enjoy. I remember two-shotting a Scion on Silver with the QMI. :)

 

Try it with a weapon kit specced for full weapon damage ;)

It's my secondary weapons for Geth trooper specced for full weapon damage (no flamer: cheese be damned).

I think the Crusader might be my fifth favourite gun, behind the Mattock, the Harrier, the Wraith and the Lancer.

Unpatched Crusader sucks. And patched Crusader only works on host.

Well, it's not its fault if it is a silent but deadly shotgun.   :lol:

 

I prefer to speak with my body count, instead of just noise: what can I say... I'm a "cold sniper". And the Crusader has an honorable and bloody history, as the Batarians know well. :devil:  

It's an elegant weapon for a more bloodthirsty age. ;)

Try this setup for the Crusader.  If you're cloaked, you can use ED and then OSK just about any non-possessed Gold mook with a body shot, and you still have 3 in the chamber for his friends.  Banshees and Atlases go down like nothing with all the double hits and PM debuff.  You may even have enough penetration to double-hit a Praetorian.  And walls mean basically nothing to you with all your penetration and the Geth Scanner.

Re: the Claymore... I mostly only use it on the Human Soldier and dodgeless classes like Batarians and Krogan.  Not just because they make reload-cancelling super-easy, but also because the Claymore just "feels" right on them.  Batarian Soldier with Claymore might actually be my overall most effective class on this game.  I sometimes use it on the Human Infiltrator too.

 

By the way, I tried going through a single-player campaign, planning to see what it's like to take Adrenaline Rush with Bonus Power and use Marksman as my extra power, with the Claymore.  That was the ENTIRE POINT of doing the SP game.  The thought was that I would shoot the Claymore, use AR to get a second shot, and then use MM to get a third shot and sustained accuracy and damage bonus with both AR and MM active.  That plan was quickly short circuited when I discovered that MM doesn't give you a free reload in SP, and for some reason you can't use the Bonus Power of AR to activate Marksman.  What, Cloak+Marksman is OK, but AR+MM would be OP?  Super disappointing.  Also, I hadn't played SP in a long time, and SP Insanity is ridiculously easy.

Passives I'd swap to 4A & 5B. If you get lucky and have a line of mooks coming at you can easily drop three of them with one headshot from the Crusader then. It's kind of a take what you can get thing, but the HS bonus is far more valuable on the SI as a whole.

Use AP IV ammo instead of Drill then, and drop the Geth Scanner for the Shotgun Amp.  You will still OSK most stuff on Gold.  EDIT:  And take 4A, not 4B in the passive.

Also, shotgun QFI with the Crusader is also pretty good.  Spec sabotage the only way, full damage on everything else.

 

Even with a level 1 crusader, I guarantee she will destroy enemies.

Oh, I've already used/still use the Crusader on the QFI. I'm happy with my current build. 5 in Tactical Cloak, 6 in Sticky Grenade, 3 in Sabotage, 6 in weapon damage, 6 in fitness. :)

Yeah, you're right about 4A, that was a mess-up by me.  If you're just doing Reapers or Cerberus, you're probably OK with 5B too.  But if you're going to do Geth or Collectors, you will need to take 5A to make sure your ED will one-shot shields on Hunters and Possessed Captains.

Aw, hell.  Well, it should still work against Cerberus and OK against Geth.  You won't be able to OSK Marauders, but it should still work pretty well against Reapers anyway.  It looks to me like you will need the Crusader IV to make it OSK Marauders and Collectors with AP or Drill III.

I slap my Claymore on a Batdept. The idea of a big gun that goes BOOOOM on a kit that makes things go BOOOOM is very fitting.

My favourite kit <3

It turns Reapers into a joke.
