In fact we know that Hawke will appear again(in inquisition), so there is no certainty that the Warden is connected with the disappearance of Hawke.(because the warden will not appear)
Perhaps the explanation is the Warden 's '' The Calling  process''

Do you guys, have any theories ?

Well my Warden is the Queen of Ferelden and ain't got time to be worrying about The Rift. Politics XD. Inquisition has it under control.

My Warden went through the eluvian. Not entirely sure how he could complete the calling process from in there. Besides, if Bioware just killed the Warden off screen, with no closure or dramatic heroic death, fans would rage so hard.

My Warden died in the last battle, the Young Cousland chose not to take part in the dark ritual in hopes of freeing Morrigan of any duty to be a continued pawn of Flemeth even after he slew the Witch. Morrigan carried his child, just not with an old god as its soul.

Hawke's probably still on the run with Merrill, regretting he didn't shank Anders sooner.

As for Warden Commander Cousland, I'm not sure, because there's not much that could have dragged him from Leliana.  But the guy's always been pretty sharp.  My guess is he figured out something was working in the shadows, manipulating world events to it's own ends.  Flemeth? Something worse?  Whatever it is, he went off on his own to try and fight it.  I'm hoping we get bits and pieces of story saying that indicate that the Hero of Fereldan is in other parts of Thedas, fighting against the forces of the Elder One.

Since the Warden will not appear ( if it lives in Origins ) at least he dies in ' The Calling '

Until a reveal or statement contradicts it my theory is that my Warden(s) has into the Deep Roads to kill the remaining Old Gods before they're awakened and made into Archdemons

Yeah, I know they won't show up.  I'm more hoping that we'll hear about them doing awesome stuff somewhere else. It's been, what 10 or 15 years since their Joining?  I don't think they're ready for that lonely walk through the Deep Roads just yet.

Edit*

You know, if they survived that whole Blight-thing, anyways.

For me, hawke went missing when he ran away with Anders. Im not sure what the warden is up to or sure what the reason for him going missing will be.

It's 10 years...Warden had how many years in your journey ? I read somewhere that it was around 17.

Curiosity caught up with me. According to the wiki, anywhere between 10 and 30 years.  It might speed up during a Blight though, but the last one didn't last all that long.  So... who knows? :)

Well, Kinda hard to hang out in Kirkwall when your boyfriend blew up the Chantry.

As for the Warden, after stabbing the archdemon to death, he probably wanted to hide out on some tropical island somewhere.

My Hawke, on the run with what money he has, is trying to deal with Templar assassins trying to kill him and Bethany. Not to mention Corypheus is apparently not dead. The Wardens are tracking him down, and want to have a chat. He's lying low.

Queen Cousland has been extremely busy the last ten years. Rebuilding the country, children, dealing with Orlais. With Morrigan gone, she's also trying to find Flemeth, and find out exactly what her plans are. The Wardens are also interested in her, as well, but that's nothing new.

I highly doubt it's "Calling" thing...there is still plenty of time before it's time for our Warden to go in 'Deep Roads' because of that(besides it would be more logical for Alistair to go first I mean he has been longer Grey Warden then us so...)

Cousland went after Morrigan just to know she and the baby lived (one play through) another went with her.... but regardless he succumbed to the calling.

Hawke is probably going to have a short life due to sickness... Thanks Isabela... XD

Whenever there is a thread about the Warden's whereabouts, there is always at least someone saying that their Queen Cousland is busy ruling Ferelden. I don't mind people headcanon thing, but the Queen of Ferelden went missing (end of DA 2), there should be some uproar.

The warden hasn't the taint for long enough to get the calling so I'd be annoyed if they write him/her out of the story that way. If he has disappeared then I would like a very good explanation.

I doubt "The Calling" happened. Because, if I'm correct wasn't your character suppose to be 18-24? It's only been 9-10yrs, and Alistair said the calling happens in 30yrs. So, your character would have to be 48-54yo, like Duncan who finally started sensing his calling.

Btw speaking of Duncan's calling, you can actually hear Duncan's calling in DAO. Before the Ogre attacks, Duncan's looking around confused. In his state of confusion, you can hear whispers. But when they stop, Duncan snaps to reality, but it's too late as he's swatted away by the Ogre.

If Bioware does the calling-thing someday, I hope we get to see it. Maybe it should be a cutscene with Alistair, The Warden and other grey warden characters in DA 5 or something like that?
