Unfortunately I don't really see it happening. Besides Anders (and that's only because of what he did at the end), the DA2 LIs appear to be pretty forgotten and irrelevant.

I don't need to see them, but I would like some acknowledgement of the relationship if it existed and still exists. A letter or a mention in dialogue.

on one hand he'd be angry with them for their blatant misuse of magic but on the other hand he knows the war had to happen eventually.

Not really. In awakening the warden was being a warden commander. IN DAI hawk is solo from what I understand and varric flat out said they were together. Not saying your wrong I just think it would be dumb

ummm I was making a joke as to the fact that then never even mention or reference you LI in Awakening.  And if what we all are assuming and you find Hawke in the fade.  Well there is a good reason Hawke would be alone then.

I'd like to see Isabela show up, but a mention would suffice as far as I'm concerned. I have doubts about its acknowledgement in the game, but who knows. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'll be heartbroken if Anders doesn't show up with Hawke. He ran away with him and I wanna see them still together.

I would love for this to happen. I'm on tenderhooks here. I don't care if the LI has to stay in Skyhold and hang out but I'll be bummed if there isn't even an explanation as to what they are doing.

I just want to see many of our former companions come back... romanced or otherwise :-)

We will see Hawke's LI but only if it is Merrill or Isabella. Isabella's role is very small however. She will only be seen in passing. No more than ten seconds on screen. Merrill gets a bigger part (5-10 minutes) and plays a big part in choosing your mage's specialty class. If you romanced Anders, you will find out that he has completely lost himself and is nothing more than a host for other spirits (you confront the kinda sorta Anders at one point in the game. He's a boss battle in a Lyrium cave).

 

If you romanced Fenris, Hawke will reveal that he was slain by a group of Blood Mages. If you romanced Sebastian, you find out that he was reduced to a puddle of goo after the stick in his butt fell out. His last words were "Andraste cleanse me"

I do not know why, but if DA2 companions do return, it will not be aside of Hawke (romance or not)..It is just a raw feeling I have as I think they will turn up in certain places where the Inquisitor will go, but not the Champion/Viscount of Kirkwall. I hope I am wrong and I can see Hawke and Merrill be in love and have the opportunity to have a family as Leandra and Malcolm did.
