Been thinking about the green mark on the Inquisitors hand after watching the prologue and heres my theory.
Given we know that blue and red lyrium exists, and that the fade rifts seem to have what appears to be a Green Lyrium growing out of them, what if the inquisitor has their ability because a sliver of the original Green Lyrium shard is imbedded in your hand.

I don't know anything about green lyrium. Tears in the veil have always been simply green. Ever since DAO. This tear is just bigger.

The mages examined the Inquisitor's hand. If it's lyrium, they would know. It's just pure magic. Lyrium still has substance.

Usually I see the green tearing when demons are forcibly coming through. Like in Soldier's Peak, where Avernus' spell was cast. Or before the archdemon fight, when a genlock emissary summons a ton of shades. Or in Awakening, in the Blackmarsh.

But lyrium is the substance of magic.

But lyrium is the substance of magic.

Lyrium is just a mineral, that is infused with magic.

The Green colors are just veil tearing. Not a substance. It's the destruction of substance, if anything.

Saw the title of the post. Had to come in.

OP, you should edit title to: On the theory of the mark on the inquisitor's hand. LOL
