The problem is that we compare these guns to the top weapons in their category. (And that some of them really suck.) 

 

For example, the Incisor isn't a bad sniper rifle but it's been made obsolete because we have powers that drain shields and redundant because there are better weapons available. I think it was introduced in ME2 to get through shields quickly. It still does that, it's just not needed anymore if you have Overload, Energy Drain, Phasic ammo etc. Also, the Viper, Valiant and Black Widow have multiple shots that all do a lot more damage. Not to mention Raptor and Indra.

 

It's like comparing an old 486DX2-66 to a Core I7-4790K. The 486 isn't a bad CPU, it's just completely outdated.

 

If we had the equivalent of playing old DOS games in ME3, then the Incisor would still have an use.

Stability issues, perhaps? Thing kicks like a mule on a lot of kits. I only like it one the Turian Soldier, personally.

 

Turian Soldier and Turian Sentinel and/or Stability Mods and it becomes pretty decent.

Viper > Vindicator.

 

I actually call the latter 'lose'dicator because it's garbage. Needs too much external compensation like stability modules or bonuses, HM/DM/MM and even then, it puts out only mediocre damage.

 

I don't care for the raw numbers. Vindicator may have decent numbers on paper but the compensation I have to make to get the best out of the gun is way too much for the damage it puts out, even as an uncommon.

 

Take the argus, for example. It needs compensation for recoil and preferably an accuracy and RoF boost. But after that, the argus actually puts out appreciable damage.

It's taking me forever to get a medal for the shuriken and vindicator.  Turian soldier does make the vindicator barely useful.

Shotgun: Venom

Anyway:

 

Pistol: Talon. Seriously, it thinks it's a shotgun, that's awful for any pistol. 

Shotgun: Claymore. It's way too heavy to use on power classes. 

Sniper: Javelin. Being able to see enemies through walls when zoomed in is really distracting. 

AR: Lancer. This sorry excuse for an Avenger doesn't even get ammo at the boxes - you have to wait for it to refill. GTFOH

SMG: Hurricane. Shoots entirely too fast.

I love that gun. I always wanted to fire one of those T-shirt cannons. It sounds just like a air soft gun on steroids.

Vindicator. No other answer even comes remotely close to that sad sack of fail. Recoil is crazy for such a small burst (I swear, the argus feels more stable when I use it!) and the damage? I'd rather just use the avenger! and it's ammo reserves aren't nearly what you'd expect. It's only saving grace is being light - and the avenger is lighter anyways.

Anyone who wants to feel the "TRUE" full auto avenger should play SP as an Infiltrator with Marksman as their bonus power. Just throwing that out there. Also fun to slap on this character are the scimitar (not even joking, the ROF + damage boost is HILARIOUS on it) and... almost anything else that's able to shoot at a decent speed.

... say goodbye to your ammo, though. I get so carried away, all 3 of my guns are empty partway through the firefight.

And has anyone nominated Harrier yet? I used my Harrier X exactly once (purely for the sake of using it after maxing it out), which only reminded me why I never use that PoS in the first place.

I must have misread the OP.  You are correct.  I thought the OP was from the perspective of the enemy.  TheBunz's avatar does look a little like the heroic Marauder Shields tbh.  The Claymore to the enemy is like the milk to Gmagnum.

Shuriken is so bad that even in a no fitness build you are better off trying to bludgeon enemies to death with it than shooting them, this despite its lack of a melee attachment.

Still, it is kind of cool that you can put ULM on it and it won't increase your cooldowns at all. I use it on snipers sometimes as a backup anti swarmer weapon for when I'm out of missiles/ grenades.
