You missed the part where the pugs were the following:

1. Talon merc spamming cain mines

2. TGI Harrier 

3. N7 Fury

 

All with maxed manifests and using top o' the line weapons/equipment

Actually they were all N7 Destroyers with striker, missile glitching.

 

I still managed to top with the OP Shuriken. Needs a debuff.

I don't use it very much, but I actually really like the Phaeston, was always one of my favorite ARs on SP.. Just a very solid, satisfying assault rifle sound/feel to it, to my mind.

Okay guys I think I might know why I thought the Shuriken was really good...

I remember how I equipped the Shuriken with armour-piercing mods. And I always pair the shuriken with a pistol (for power-based classes). For me, I felt the Shuriken was able to strip armour more faster than my regular weapon.

BSN is all about min/max. The Phaeston and GPR are neither. They are also both rifles that function pretty well but at the medium range of damage. The GPR is pretty good on the GE or GT and the Phaeston is good on any Turian or Marksman/AR kit. Both of them allow one to keep fighting longer without racing for the ammo crate, something that the elite dismiss as irrelevant and that those of us who are not elite players can find allows more concentration on the immediate gameplay-

 

Neither is even remotely describable as the worst weapon in the game. But in the BSN GroupThink™, not being absolutely top means being seen as utterly useless. This applies to weapons as much as to the scoreboard, and is probably a consequence of the belief in the scoreboard as the most important part of the game.

Yep. GPR GE owns even on Platinum. I like the Phaeston on a wide variety of Turians, I guess the sentinel is my favorite even though the TGImpfiltrator is probably better with it. Vindicator is pretty shitty but I can even make that thing sing. I love the Scimitar always received hatemail or compliments after I play with BSNers with it.

It's bad, but it's not as bad as BSN likes to make out. Someone (Randall/ark/Rusty maybe?) got it in a Gold randomiser game I was in quite recently, and they did OK with it.

I don't know about Gold, but ark got it on a vorcha on a platinum randomised game and wished he didn't. I Have have taken it in a common weapons only game on platinum, on a Cerberus adept, and it went ok but like ark I ended up just spamming powers to do most of the damage.

I agree the hornet is more disappointing, considering it's a rare gun. I wouldn't like to rely on either of them as my main source of damage though, unless I was taking a Tsoldier.

For me the overall worst weapon is the spitfire, as it has the sad distinction of being the only weaker gun that you can't put on a Turian soldier and make it shine. That speed reduction cripples it IMO, and the ok damage just doesn't make up for it. And especially seeings as it's an ultra rare...

Close second for me would be the raptor. I'm not sure there's really a bad shotgun or pistol overall- there's weaker ones overall but you can make all of them work on Gold at least.

It was ark I was thinking of (poor beggar!). I remembered that as a Plat game but couldn't believe that we would do something so derpy as to play Plat randomizer games

Close second for me would be the raptor. I'm not sure there's really a bad shotgun or pistol overall- there's weaker ones overall but you can make all of them work on Gold at least.

I use the raptor on gold all the time and occasionaly take it to plat where it does fine. It has good DPS if you are consistent with headshots and use double hits.

You can't seriously be suggesting that turds like the predator, phalanx, katana, scimitar or eviscerator are in the same league? There is no compensating for their awful damage, whereas raptor outclasses quite a few rares at max fire rate. The only uncommons or lower I would put ahead of it are the mattock and mantis, and only just

I essentially agree, but I'd rather put a scope on Vindicator than snipe with Raptor.

Based on what criteria? In addition to sustained DPS, raptor has better accuracy and thus much greater range and practical ability to land headshots and increasse its DPS by a factor of 3.5x, access to the excellent sniper rifle mods( you can get 2+m of penetration for most double hits and get 90% of armor damage migtigation while keeping your incendiary/ disruptor cheese or warp IV), a ton of ammo and still low enough weight to be used on just about anything. Its hipfire penalty is also meaningless because the scope is so user friendly at close range

The only way I would put anything in the uncommon or lower category but the mantis and mattock ahead is if we are talking about ease of use(IE, not crying aboout having to preess a button hurting your pathetic wittle human fingers)
