For starters, there will be people who will not buy the game because it has nudity. So sales will be objectively hurt. Maybe not by much, but still.

I could easily argue that some people might actually buy it just because it's in there (or maybe someone who would buy it on sale and now buys it full price).

Your "objective" arguments are just kinda weaksauce.

Fair enough, though people buying DAI for nudity doesn't make sense to me since it is spending money for a few minutes of a 150+ hour game when they can just watch the scenes for free on websites.

You could make that argument for the whole romance arcs.

I try to avoid killing people in the games, so I would not say I am A-OK with wanton violence.

Also, it's not just female nipples. I don't think men should be topless either. Fair is fair.

Why not just employ the same strategy for nudity, then?

If you can avoid killing in games where it's outright mandatory, I'm sure you can avoid a sex scene when it's completely optional.

Except it isn't optional. In order to avoid it, you have to avoid romances entirely. As I said earlier, I enjoy the romance subplots for the story so that would be as bad. I am in a lose-lose situation.

You just said you avoid killing people in games where that is pretty much the main thing you do. Just skip the damn cutscene. It's not that hard.

Yeah, it's not like they have conversations that develop the characters and plot while they are naked. Oh wait a minute, they have exactly that happen.

Does the game still let you skip cut scenes? You can do what I do and just skip the make outs/sex scenes all together.

It does not only occur in cutscenes though.

It could also be interpreted as a scene that is particularly more intimate because both characters are basically at their most vulnerable. If some people are going to boil it down to "eww nekkid", that's really just too bad and people can either avoid the romance or muscle through it and combat the Old God Squeamish The Timid.

Yes.  And I mean, what do you like?

I strongly suspect that at least 18,000 of your 18,467 posts are complaints about something.  I was just wondering if you ever stopped complaining.  And what you would talk about if you did.

I still can't grasp how someone can be A-Ok with wanton violence, but oh no, a lady nipple? Have you no shame?

For me at least it's because nudity in games tends to only be female nudity and well generally handled really badly.

The violence at least in DA tends to be equally applied to both genders.

So It aint cause I'm a prude. :P

You can express that vulnerability and intimacy in ways other than them not wearing clothes and everything but their crotch being shown.

There are many things I like or love about the game.

Most of my posts are positive or neutral. If there were more things I did not like about DAI than did, I wouldn't be on the forums. You just apparently only see me the few times I am complaining or have negative feelings on something in the game.

People who would already buy the game applauding something in the game is not an objective benefit.

What counts as an "objective benefit"? Just sales?

Maybe I missed something. I'm also not clear why "objective benefit" is a relevant criterion. I imagine Bio would willingly trade ten or fifteen sales for making the game the way they want to make it.And second-guessing your own tastes all the time is no way to live.

Not just sales, but it is the easiest thing one can find objective data with.

I already said that Bioware doesn't care about the complaints enough to not make the game they want to make.

To be honest, I respect them for that. It just happens that I disagree with them on this one.

Gotcha. Note that nudity is hardly the only issue that works this way. I can think of a lot of design issues where going for the lowest common denominator might also have resulted in a few more sales. Plus a few where Bio arguably did go for the lowest common denominator

Perhaps Dragon Age IV will somehow go more far beyond the Mature rating boundries in the way that Robert E. Howard did in his original Conan the Cimmerian tales hopefully folks!, of course if they were to actually go this mentioned route with Dragon Age IV in the upcoming future it's actual ESRB content rating would be somewhere in the lines of "19+" or something similar!

Can we please not attack each other and keep it about the game? She can dislike nudity if she wants to, just put her on your ignore list. :pinched:

is the nudity in DA:I witcher 2 type nudity???

It probably won't have poorly animated pseudo-pornographic-sex-scenes, I imagine, no.
