Fair enough. I just read news that ruined the romances in DAI for me anyway elsewhere so I guess I am just staying single this time.

because these are intimate scenes between characters, shying away from sexuality in such a context comes across as at best conservative, at worst prudish

It's not just nipples. In the scene I mentioned, you don't see anything. The person is clearly not wearing clothes, but due to shadows and clever camera angles you don't see anything that constitutes the nudity rating while still having everything conveyed that having nudity would.

Nevermind. It was someone misinterpreting or trolling. They said that when they talked to Leliana, she said she and Josephine had been lovers. Sheryl Chee responded saying those two have never slept together.

Guys, maybe ease up on Kallen? I don't share her perspective and so I understand curiosity, but it seems a bit hostile...like people are projecting their frustrations with societal views of nudity onto an individual and asking said individual to answer for that, instead of engaging with their personal views.

I try to avoid killing people in the games, so I would not say I am A-OK with wanton violence.

Also, it's not just female nipples. I don't think men should be topless either. Fair is fair.  

So you want game developers to cater to your ideals and ignore everybody else.

 

Got news for you. Its 2014. Its not 1954. This is a game for adults 18 and over. If a parent buys this for their underage kid without researching it...then they are being an incompetent parent.  There is NO WAY in hell my parents would have ever bought this game for me.    

 

We live in an overly puritanical society.  They show far more risque stuff in Europe and the teen pregnancy/ rape rate are lower there than they are in America.

 

We need to stop hiding from it. We need to stop being taught that sex is evil because its not.  And we need to educate people better.

Yeah, it's probably a lot safer to avoid any potential past LI's having flings with the current PC or other characters.  I could imagine it could get complicated to track and, if not done properly, could really alienate some people. 

 

Except for Zev and Isabela, naturally.  It's just expected for a threesome with the two of them to occur.

Nudity by itself never really bothered me in media tbh.There's nothing vulgar about it, unless it's presented in that way and I don't think it will be the case in DAI.

They did in Mass Effect 3, so I see no reason why they wouldn't in Dragon Age: Inquisition. 

In a couple of scenes, anyway. In others, they did it DA:O style. Samantha's scene is pretty infamous because of this.

That wouldn't happen to a romanced Leliana. I don't see the issue at all, she could very well had a rs with Josie before meeting the warden or even Marjolaine.

Then why are those who would rather not see them in DAI (or any game for that matter) being called "prudes" and such?  Why are they so important that they must be displayed in love scenes?  Or any scenes, for that matter?

 

Why is it "nudity or underwear sex"  Are there no other options?

What? No naked boys, just girls?

That sounds a lot like the "mature" approach TW took to nudity (design scenes specifically to show girly T&A as much as possible without being overly blatant about the gratuitousness of it all so your fanboys will praise and defend you for it.).

If Bioware is gonna do nudity, I would expect better.
