Right. Not like the extra effort needed to fully render Triss, or Ves completely naked.

Play TW2. I'm not sure how difficult you realize animating someone taking their pants off in a video game, but it's a programming nightmare and wouldn't look right. The best CDPR was able to do was take off Geralt's belt. He isn't a Sorceress like Triss, so he can't just magically take his clothes off. We also never see his pants on when he in the actual act of the sexual intercourse. The camera is framed in such a way to give us the illusion that he is not wearing pants.

 

Nudity, maybe. But romance? I played both Witcher games and I liked both of them, but let's not forget the "brilliant" sex cards in the first game.

 

Also, maybe it's just me, but something about the line "pioneer of nudity in games" makes me laugh.

 

And also, in the spirit of keeping the thread on topic, I just want to say that I really couldn't care less if there's nudity in Inquisition or not. Has zero to do with my enjoyment of the game.

CDPR has already admitted to handly the sex cards in TW1 poorly and they were not implemented correctly. The fact people continue to hound on this when that game was released seven years ago...

 

What's so funny about CDPR willing to do what few others will do? BioWare included.

 

Again, there will be nudity somewhere between ME1 and TW2. It will be short and sweet and show some butts and breasts. Anything more with romance and you are getting dangerously close to receiving an AO-rating. CDPR pushes it as far as they possibly can go.

It isn't extra effort to render female body naked because they don't have this thingy between their legs while male characters have and you need to actually make it in polygons. And it's have no sense to do it just for 1 scene cos you will not use it for in-game model. In future maybe they will do correct anatomy body for males and we will see differences below the waist but with current technology it's not wise to do so. 

They don't have to render the penis, though. They can just render a naked ass, and use camera angles to avoid showing the crotch area. That would be fine.

 

And by this logic, it makes no sense to render nude women "just for 1 scene" either.

 

Honestly, I'm just grateful BioWare went full hog so I don't have to be upset with them for this.

Firstly, let's be adults here, men don't have a 'thingy' they have a penis.

 

Secondly, I could make the same argument against have breasts in a game, why render a full breast when you only see them in one scene in the game?

 

And this argument does nothing to negate the fact that showing a man's ass requires little additional work, if you are already showing a woman's ass.

 

As you said, it's BioWare game and they can do what they want, which in this case is listen to fans and add more nudity.

 

What I'm struggling to understand is your argument here, you don't seem to want or care about nudity in a game, so what's your point? That it's BioWare game & they don't have to listen to feedback; we know that. That we shouldn't expect nudity for both genders because a penis is to hard to render?

 

I'm just confused as to the point you are trying to make, if indeed you are trying to make one.

If Triss can be naked than Geralt can be naked, equality in nakedness for everyone!

Yeah, I'm not against nudity but I'm trying to say that it's not main thing in this particular game for dev to so much care about. And I see that create full nude body for male is harder than for woman and trying to tell you why they are not doing this. Though I can't understand why they can't make nude male butt. Maybe it's again more difficult to make or they just don't care.

The reason you did not see Geralt naked was not because CDPR was averse to male nudity, but because TW2 would have received an AO-rating by the ESRB. It's almost a death nail to include nudity below the waist at all (male and female).

Aha... so that's why the very first sex scene in TW2 does not show a bit of female butt or below the belt frontal. Not a single frame - right?

Well with a game as big as DA:I is made up of a lot of moving pieces and some are more important to devs than others.

 

Combat is obviously a huge piece of the game, much bigger than romances, but I'm sure you'll find fans that care about the relationships they have with companions more or the same amount as the combat. 

 

Just because it is a smaller part of the game doesn't mean fans shouldn't provide their feedback or ideas on the topic.

 

I understand where you are coming from though, sometimes I read a thread and am like 'why do people care about this?' but just because I don't care about it doesn't mean others don't

It won't happen if you don't fight for it. I'm sure many people didn't believe they'd live to see marriage equality and now most of the western world either has it, or will have it soon. 

 

Not that nudity in video games is as important as marriage equality, but it could help society deal with it's sexual hang ups which can only be a good thing.

Maybe because she is a woman and like woman in my country don't like to wear men clothes and usually wears very feminine outfits? Maybe because she is a Mage! Mages don't wears heavy armor they just cast stone skin or bubble. But yeah I can see your point of view. What I can say... unfortunately your idea isn't popular among the devs. They are like me more conservative when it comes to woman and mages. And you can't force them to change their opinion people have freedom of what they want think. The only way for you is to wait until there would appear new studio that shares you point of view. Again why treat equal warrior and mage better to show what is the difference between them you don't want to all of your heroes running in heavy armor don't you?
