vgchartz posts projections and predictions. Their numbers have no solid base.

Well, credibility out the window. I was hoping these numbers were true...

I think my numbers are probably about as accurate.

Why people even develop for the PS3 is beyond me. It's architecture is a disaster and for game makers programming for it is like going to the dentist.

OP pulled numbers out of his ass but I would say it's pretty safe to assume it was Xbox 360, PC and PS3 in order of sales per platform.
Actually the most realistic assumption is PC -> Xbox -> PS3 given that DA:O on PC sold more than Total War. Also, it's the lead platform and most people that own both a PC and a console got it for PC.
Why people even develop for the PS3 is beyond me. It's architecture is a disaster and for game makers programming for it is like going to the dentist.
I need to burst a bubble here, there are many games that sell more on PS3 than on the 360, the two consoles cater to different demographics, and different genres sell differently on both.
People develop for the PS3 even more lately, since after the price drop it's obviously the console that offers the best bang for the buck features-wise, it has an installed base almost as big as the 360's (and the gap is quickly closing), whose installed base can't even be gauged correctly, given the extremely high failure rate, and the fact that a big chunk of the "total sold" simply are new 360 that replaced broken units adding to the sales but leaving the installed base unchanged.
Finally, the PS3 is the machine that offers the best exclusive games, quality-wise. Games like uncharted 2 would simply not run on a 360, as the developers clearly stated, and as the fact that no games on the same level have ever been developed on the 360 clearly demonstrates.

Licking my chops for some more DA love in the expansion and then DA2!

How about we leave the platform superiority out of the thread please? I'd like to see official numbers for DA worldwide. If its sold close to 2 million already, I'd say that is a huge success for this game considering how hardcore of a RPG it is.

I can pretty much tell you that, given that the PC version sold more than Total War, we should be WAY above the two millions total (probably closer to 3).
Other than that, there's no source that will tell you the PC numbers by themselves straight out, because NPD and similar sources don't count Steam, Direct to Drive and similar digital distribution providers, and those don't provide exact numbers, but just "top sellers" list without numbers (and DA:O dominated those for quite a while).
So if you want 100% true numbers you'll have to wait the end of next month, when EA will give their numbers in their conference call to the investors.
