Hi. What does that have to do with the Warden? They never met. He's tainted, but he's not exactly like any Darkspawn we've met, including the Architect, I mean, if we take the lore to heart, he's the grand daddy of all Darkspawn, but since he can possess a Warden, apparently, w/out killing him, he's even superior to an Old God, isn't he? Why would we want to put the Warden at risk of becoming the next puppet?

"Unless there is a Major Darkspawn related story."  That was what the poster that I replied to wrote, thus I gave a possible one considering he is the big bad.

The warden doesn't need to meet Corypheus to know/learn of him from a third party so what was your point on that?

And as someone already suggested, and keeping in mind we're talking about the company that (potentionally based on an individual's playthrough) brought back Leliana and Anders back to life for story purposes, if there was a way to resist Corypheus it would be implemented.

Corypheus also "called" the Wardens in the DLC and is probably the reason why the Inquisition attacks a grey warden fortress (as seen in one of the trailers). So he doesn't even need to learn of him through a third party, he should know that guy already.

Perhaps the HoF is immune to Corypheus due to the concoction in Avernus's tower (Wardens keep dlc) if you drank it

Might be an explanation for why whether or not the Warden obtained the Power of Blood ability from Avernus's concoction is present in the Keep's choices....

Would certainly be a nice 'what if' scenario, since the abilities themselves are crap.

Edit: compared to other abilities.

Yep, but at this stage of the game, wouldn't lying cost them more than telling the truth? After all, the rage and denial could easily explode to ME 3 ending proportions since people aren't getting what they feel like they deserve. Hold on to whatever helps you sleep at night, but bear in mind that we've been told, more than a couple of times, that the Warden is not the focus of Dragon Age, but just a chapter in a story about Thedas.

It would seem that I was closer than I thought to what's going on with the Warden, based on that.

Not that my Warden wouldn't

Spoiler
, but it does seem like the kind of thing he'd put on hold temporarily if the sky were splitting open and pouring demons out onto the world. And he can't have made much progress yet if he's still
Spoiler

Also, what the heck was Leliana talking about at the end of DA2? Was she unable to find him because she only looked for 16 hours?

You guys do realize what it would mean for your Warden to end the Calling, right? It means that no more Warden deaths in the deep roads. It may also help in reproduction as Wardens have a much harder time reproducing due to the taint. Along with that the implication leaves me and I hope you to believe that this will help with any heir left for your King-Consort or Queen-Consort Wardens.

But it has left me with another thought. The devs have said that The Warden's story is over and that there are no plans for The Warden to become a protagonist again. They've also said that these will be a series of games each with new protagonists. However, they also hear how much people want to see their Warden again. They understand that people are highly connected to their characters and have given people the option to kill Hawke but not the Warden. Out of the two protagonists only the former will be seen and have a determinate fate. Depending upon the story of the game it may have been safer to keep the Warden out of the story entirely. Once you consider that there's only one thing I have thought of that makes sense.

They may bring back the Warden as a protagonist a game down the line if they change their minds about a new protagonist each game. Think about it. Leaving him/her out intentionally is saving that Warden's life. Killing the character off screen would ****** off too many people and if they plan on doing so it will be in front of your eyes (and potentially) like what happens to Hawke. There are very few people I have read whom hate their Warden. Leading for BioWare to easily grab fans back into the series if they ever decided to use the Warden as a protagonist. I also get the feeling that with the 360 and PS3 able to have a relatively similar experience to those on the XbOne and PS4 with having the ability to have choose between 2 voiced protagonists for each gender that they are testing ground for the obvious next game's specs. Being able to accomplish that before fully utilizing the power the XbOne and PS4 can exhibit (PC will be capable of more or less the same if not more) may allow for even more variation with voices and still provide a richer experience due to the hardware available in these consoles. And if that's the case, the Warden may not have a story in presently, but the future is ever changing. And the best laid plans are often laid to waste.

It may seem wild and farfetched, but that is my guess. After all, with the current cycle of consoles just starting they have not even tested the limits of what they are capable of reaching. And if they haven't fulfilled the maximum then there is always possibility. The Warden could be DA4 or DA5's protagonist. Mark it down.

As for the Warden reappearing in a future game either as a protagonist or like Hawke in Inquisition and the bitternis about her/his absence from Inquisition: what most people don't seem to have thought about - or at least, I barely read it here on the board at all - the Warden being alive is not true for all of us.

I guess also this quest only appears for those of us who didn't make the final sacrifice, as it is not titled "Contact the Wardens" but "Contact the Hero of Ferelden". If the Hero died slaying the Archdemon, this quest couldn't possibly appear. It's one thing to "revive" someone like Leliana where you never actually saw her dead body. Several players have seen their Warden's funeral where the Hero could be seen lying dead before Alistair/Anora who held the eulogy.

I've always felt that DA:O got it right. To be honest.

Hawke was a good storyline protagonist, but Hawke never felt like "me" or at least "my extension of me in Thedas".

My Cousland scion has always just felt right to me, I've replayed the Human Noble origin so many times I can recite the voice actors lines, with relatively accurate impersonations, with the sound off and the subtitles turned off as well.

The Warden always felt like "I" was fighting the Blight. Like "I" was uniting a broken nation to face a grave and imminent danger, like "I" was developing meaningful relationships with my companions. The Warden was special...because the Warden was a perfectly designed hole that allowed me to fit myself inside it.

Hawke was a great character, Lord or Lady, I had no true complaints, but there was no illusion of self insertion into the storyline either, because Hawke had an identity that was not my own, but Hawke's, so I was, in all fairness, watching an interactive movie, and not living a role playing experience as such.

The Inquisitor seems like a good step back in the old direction, but again...will the voice feel like mine? Will the personality feel like its actually me when it inflects certain nuances of language based on the verbal response I've chosen? Its hard to say without experiencing it, but the hole of the "mute" hero that the Warden left, was a hole for me to fill with my own voice, and my own feelings.

Spoiler

Anyways, Warden's are special because Warden's are us. We are the Heroes of the Fifth Blight.....and its a role that unfortunately continues to dwindle in significance as the time passes.

I'm not sure what BioWare's fascination is with attempting to introduce new protagonists with each title. If I wanted that kind of game I'd be playing something from Telltale.

Anyways I swerved a bit off topic. Sorry about that.
