Hawke is a failure. I swear every time me and my cousin bring him up it's to laugh at him. It's cool if you like the character; just realize it's an acquired taste.

A person's story is not over unless the person is dead
The Warden has an important job, the Warden has incredible abilities and a lot of business to do (especially if they're royals now)
Let's not do Pikachu-gets-nerfed type of thing and make the Warden suddenly lose all the abilities and influence just so everyone can forget about them
I'm not saying he lost his abilities or any of that. I said he's not just sitting on the sidelines watching it all happen. I just meant his story is over in terms of not being a huge role in the series anymore.
Obviously, your opinion is your opinion and I'm not going to or trying to change it.
I'll just say I trust Bioware to handle it and believe they will do a better job than you or I could. After all, it's their story they're telling, so, I won't sit here like a child, throwing a tantrum because they didn't tell it the way I wanted it to be.
And now Hawke will get the material they deserve.
Only a cameo in the game with another protagonist. Just what Hawke deserved, sounds about right.

Funny, this is something people are asking about Warden. A cameo. So if warden was in game too, would you say the same thing?

Besides, who said it's a bad thing to have a cameo in a game like this one? ![]()

Well, every PC's story is "over" once their game is finished
Still, it would be more realistic to at least make believable mentions and stories
Disappearing in some misty foggy story is unsatisfying
But maybe I'm just too attached to the characters. After all, I still hope we will find mentions not just of Wardens but also of the previous companions. All of them (except ones like Mhairi)
They are what makes Bioware games so incredible

I guess the universe would explode if both Warden and Inquisitor tried to save the world together
Heck, all the enemies might as well just give up and flee in terror which can be said about almost every badass protagonist of every game like DA. I wonder why some of the antagonists even try
Hawke though. I'd be more worried about the Inquisitor's fate and pretty much every Hawke's friend/ally/siblings/lover/etc than their enemies. Or pretty much everything alive or undead around poor fella

SpoilerInsert happy gif of your choice
My contribution
Doesn't actually mean the Warden is in it, probably just some quest to mail off a letter or exchange info between a middle man or something -- sorry to burst your bubble

Funniest post i've read for days now.
You guys are making the warden so overrated, it's gotten to the point of ridiculousness.

Good, because it was meant to be a joke
well, a joke about Hawke's bad luck. Seriously, I pity poor fella. It reminds me of that, eh, ability? Skill? From Fallout or Fallou 2 which would make everyone around the protagonist die in terrible ways during the combat. Funny yet terrible
DAO, the Warden was the beginning, I'd say our elders deserve the respect even if they can be jerks sometimes yes i'm looking at you grangran
holy f*** I'm about to cry from joy
Leliana is totally going on this mission!
I don't know how anyone could actually choose between the two. Just imagine, a romance between Hawke and the Warden. ![]()
Morrigan should be an advisor to the inquisition and you should be able to choose her or Leliana. I better damn well find out why he isn't in a mirror with Morrigan.
Did Navoletti see this yet? ![]()
No one needs to recreate the Warden. It's not the game about the Warden, or Hawke. There is no even a need (or possibility) to give them a personality. That's just a nonsense to even think of
A quest, battle, situation and - if the Warden just has to talk - neutrally-sounding lines. Not eveything just has to shout "aggressive/pacific/sarcastic". Like 40% of Shepard's lines in ME3 which were so neutral the whole three options we were given sounded like the same thing
So a generic warrior mage or rogue, male or female, human dwarf or elf with no personality, who looks different and who will read out some lines in a voice I don't recognise claiming to be the Warden, yeah that will be worth all the effort. ![]()
vs
Hawke, with a face, clothing and weaponry I recognise, speaking with a voice and with the personality I recognise. Also with a established connection to the events leading up to DAI.
Yes its hard to see why they went with Hawke instead of 'Generic Warden'. ![]()

If we can change Hawke's appearance we would be able to change Warden's appearance. Like, didn't you follow Mike Laidlow's tweets? Everyone knows that
Good luck trying to recognise the voice which exists only in your head
We won't have a lot of Hawke too, anyway. Enough to listen a couple of generic peaceful/aggressive/sarcastic lines and that's it. Not to mention that trying to narrow Hawke into one personality is pretty shallow. Just because my Hawke was friendly it doesn't mean she can't be super angry at people or crack a bad funny joke
And why "vs" instead of "and"?
Did Navoletti see this yet?
Yes, and he/she is still whining about Hawke...

Do you even now what your arguing for, your arguing for an appearance by the Warden which has been pointed out repeatedly isn't even possible due to obvious problems with recreating a Warden from scratch, who lacks a recognisable race, face, armour, weaponry, voice etc.
I'll keep it simple
Warden appearance = freakin impossible
Hawke appearance = simple to do.

Have you even actually played the previous games?
Face - Character Creators, just like Hawke will be likely done (or do you expect them to use the default Hawke? Because this won't happen, they said themselves so)
Armour and weaponry - the new default grey warden armour since every grey warden uses them nowadays
The only problem is voice, which can be solved by either making the cameo silent or giving us a choice, or choosing the voice as neutral as it can be
It is very possible. But it very tricky

So do i need to bring my own toilet paper to post in here or is it being supplied?
Have you even actually played the previous games?
I'd go out on a limb and say probably more than you (33 Origin and 13 DA2), people really let themselves down when they play the 'You disagree with me, you no play game' card.

You will be able to customize Hawke's face, but his/her voice, weaponry, armour (or robes) etc wil be the recognisable default unlike any Warden appearance In which the face could be the only recognisable feature of your Warden (which you would have to create from scratch)..

Why would my Warden be in inferior armour and be using inferior weaponry?

So a generic warrior, mage or rogue with a likely different face, clothing (or armour), weaponry and voice, yeah that screaming my Warden to me.
Maybe it could be like Saints Row, when the Warden actually speaks he could have an amusingly high pitch voice like the chipmunks. ![]()

I guess it wasn't enough to grasp these obvious facts x_x'''
We will customize Hawke's face probably using the standard human model. And that's it. Everything else will be default - armour, voice, weapons. And since DA:I has every race playable (just like DA:O did minus qunari) we would be able to remake it just fine. That's definitelly not the problem if they can make Hawke
Because every warden wears it nowadays? Well, almost everyone. They pretty much canonised it as the classic uniform. Plus there will be wardens' armour of different ranks which we can make out PC and companions wear. What can I say, dear, fashion is stronger than some darkspawn
Not different face, not really different voice and not different clothes/weapons
Really, out of all your points the only solid one is voice. Everything else can be easily solved and is areally weak excuse
I am pretty sure it was stated that we will not see the warden but he/she will be referenced in the game somehow.

Yea plus it said "contact HOF" not "Meet up with the HOF".

The points you just cannot seem to grasp are...
1. Face.....probably easiest if you want to spend a hour or so on the character creator in the middle of the game to get a face that looks vaguely like your originial Warden.
2. Weaponry appearance....for instance my Warden warriors tended wielded to unique swords (including dual wield).
3. Armour appearance....again my Wardens always had a unique set of armour
4. Personality....impossible to recreate through character creator
5. Voice......also impossible since no voice exists apart from repeating phrases.
Why would anybody want an appearance by somebody claiming to be the Warden, who doesn't look, sound or act like the Warden. Its a total waste of time better spent elsewhere in the game.
Once again
Warden appearance = freakin impossible
Hawke appearance = simple to do
