dude/dudette i say this article is bought and paid for by AMD  The gtx 980 is a  powerhouse  i say it should get  90 fps with 4x msaa plus only 15 fps with gtx 750 2gb i can    60 fps  1920x1080  on BF4 high settings

You don't know what you are talking about.  GTX 980 is new and they are probably working on a driver that will work better for other games. Right now it's the driver that's holding it back.

Do we actually know if/when Nvidia will have a driver for DA:I? Given all the AMD focus they'll probably have one out the door, but I'm not sure about Nvidia...

They released a driver for Civ: Beyond Earth around the same time as that game was released and that is also a 'mantle' game so hopefully they will do the same for DAI.

Nvidia released driver updates for the releases of COD and AC:U. Wouldn't make sense to cripple themselves for another big release.

With MSAA disabled yes, but not with 4xMSAA

These benchmarks are EXTREMELY bad. This is only 1080p and a 780ti can barely break 40fps, are you FN kidding me? BF4 plays at max settings well over 70fps.

This doesn't even make sense when you look at "recommended specs". Recommended specs is for the best way to play the game. Those cards are not even close to a 780ti, so what do they get? 20fps? How the F is that recommended?

Ubisoft does a better job on PC than this and they are the worst ones ever.

I have 2 780's in SLI and in BF4 maxed out at 1440p which is MILLIONS of pixels more than 1080p I can easily get well over 70fps.

These are the RECOMMENDED cards for DAI:

AMD Radeon HD 7870 or R9 270

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660

They aren't even on the list in those benchmarks, They wouldn't even be able to play the game at 20 fps maxed out. How is that EVEN recommended? They would have to play medium to get decent 40 fps, let alone 60 fps.

Unoptimised drivers + 4XMSAA which is like a 40% performance hit.

Plus the Ultra setting in BF4 has no MSAA, just post process AA.

Why do benchmarks always turn on MSAA? Who seriously uses that AA method in deferred engines anymore?

It does nothing for shader, temporal and transparency aliasing and it's a DOG to run on these engines.

The game offers SMAA, which is going to achieve way better results and it's MUCH cheaper to run, it's what most people are going to use (with FXAA as a secondary option), and you'll likely see those frame rates double.

Makes no sense.

4x MSAA usually takes like 30% of FPS away. If not more.

I was just going to say Nvidia released a driver for COD last week, one for ACU this week. I'd assume they'll release one for DAI next week.

We dont have to use the in game Presets. In BF4, a mixed of ultra/high, high/medium setting goes a long way when it comes to FPS. The differences between High/Medium - Ultra is minimal to my eyes. I am sure it will be the case in DAI as well.

nVidia and AMD will no doubt release new drivers for DAI once the game is out.

Since this game releases for XBox One and PS4 - I do not see how a GTX 560 Ti / AMD 6850 cannot handle the game at medium settings. :P

[Long live the master race!!!]

Wonder if nVidia owners could use the new MFAA and DSR.

There is an in-game DSR setting for BF4, so most likely will be in Inquisition as well.

Of course not many will be able to run this game at 1080p with 200% DSR, as I gather that would be roughly equivalent to 4k display.

Well, I just bought a GTX 970 to upgrade from my GTX 760 because of the info at the beginning of this thread.  So hopefully DA:I will look sexy now.

I think it would have looked sexy on your gtx 760 without all the unecessary filters. But yes it will be sexier with a gtx 970, particularly on higher resolutions.

Look at the people who are crying that Assassins Creed: Unity doesnt run... 80% of them have MXAA on also PCSS(this fancy shadow thing)

Some people simply have no clue how to use settings in PC Games..

i think most Benchmark have it because its "stresses" the Hardware to the max..  i dont care.. is just add 15-20fps to the FPS they have

Actually I read that in the case of Assassin's Creed: Unity. Taking your rig offline will immediately yields more improvement than turning off MSAA :)

Although the post is for PS4 but even PC users are reporting a vast improvement once they disable their internet....

hrmf... if this is true, I wonder what is Ubisoft doing behind the scenes...

TotalBiscuit on his Twitter wrote, that performance is not awful, but a little shaky at times at the moment.

He's playing on a single GTX 980, and had to reduce settings to high (from ultra) to maintain stable 60 FPS. SLI support is bugged right now (causes character heads to disappear), but NVidia is creating a driver - so both performance and SLI support should improve.

Conversations (not cutscenes) are locked at 30 FPS for some reason.

I think I will have no problem maintaining 60+ FPS average with everything turned to max and 4x MSAA with my 970 SLI and 4770k. Seems like a good optimized game from bioware.

Considering a 290x is producing more FPS then GTX 980 even in DirectX mode pretty much clarifies that driver's aren't really optimized for the game yet which is understandable as the game is still unreleased.

Considering how much you paid for two 970s and 4770k,you should be able to run that game or  there would be somethnig seriously wrong, however I still feel the game is far from optimised,it's a RPG not fast paced FPS game.

Because they want to show differences at the high end. I think it would be more valuable to focus on the low-end, but I guess the people with top notch computers are more likely to be interested in this sort of thing.
