Personally, I think having the choice there would be awesome. It's something I'd never do, but as a potential story turn? Wow.

 

I agree, as a story twist and freedom of choice, then damn! But I'd never do it because I adore Hawke.

 

The only way I'd like that choice to be there is if it meant that Varric would leave permanently, no exceptions, basically to drill it into the player's heads what a colossal jerkass move that was to make?! So you'd have to ask yourself, do you hate Hawke, or do you love Varric more?

IIRC, Gaider already said that to best of his recollection there were no 'one choices' that make companions quit regardless of their approval. So it looks like you may be able to stick a fork in Hawke and keep Varric.

It's more likely that the outcome will depend on if you decide to send her or not.

idk, i watched a video earlier where they showed the war table and they went over the quest which messes her up in the first place and it said you sent secrets, then they went to finish up another secret quest and when she reported the results to them she looked normal

You can definitely avoid it by sending someone else and you can completely avoid that quest by doing something different.

Hawke looked really good in that vid! Like... so much so I'm surprised that he didn't look that good in the other vids we saw. Does this game just resent getting good screencaps or something? (I've noticed that there's a lot of elements that are better in vids than in stills.)
