Aside from a few elements it looks like an exact copy from the shitty console UI. Were all those promises of a true PC experience lies mr Bioware?
PS: Please don't f*ck up the UI in the next mass effect, computers have mouses with at least 3 clicks.

First of all, I'm sure the UI is excellent as all BioWare UIs are. If it scales like console ones, that is a good thing for anyone who plays at high (as in well over 1080p) resolutions.
Drop down lists on pc (see skyrim) != excellent, it's awful, it should be illegal. It was already a pain in DA:O it seems worse now. The thing is thought for the use of a pad, not mouse/keyboard combo.
and second of all?
oh geez the pc master race is at it again
and second of all?
The scalability being a boon for higher resolutions. My display is 1800p, so non-scaling UIs are nigh-unreadable and unusable, even if I can run the game at that resolution easily. Games with natively-coded controller support tend to be much better about that, even when playing with keyboard and mouse.
Well honestly UI on PC doesn't look that good.
My few objections:
1. Full screen inventory (WTF is that ?)
2. Full screen skill trees/charcter customizations.
I want inventory and character sheet to be back in simple windows which doesn't take entire screen...
Also hotbar. Why tought that adding this semi transparent thingy to hold icons is good idea? I would rather prefer hotbar to be simple. Simple square icons grouped togather without any kind of background.
aye i do like pc and controller uis both seem really nice

Nah. They didn't do a proper PC interface ever since Dragon Age Origins (and even that lacked grid). Now they seem to think that they'll slap an mkb-specific skillbar with limitations matching those of a gamepad into the UI and everyone will jump in joy.

Apropos of pretty much nothing, when did PC gamers start talking about "1800p" resolutions, rather than saying 1600x900, or some such?
I'm a bit confused by the substantive point. The main way I can tell a bad console port is that the interface is way oversized and inefficient on my monitor. I guess I just haven't seen this done well. Anyone have an example of a good scaling interface?
I don't know! I find it strange as well. The worst thing is when people say 'HD' to mean 1080p when pretty much every PC resolution is 'HD'! (It's 2880x1800 I meant, for what it's worth.)
I personally don't like how a single skill tree takes up the entire screen. I like seeing all trees of a class on one screen or in a window and that you can read info when hoovering over it with the mouse. It gives a better overview.
The UI looks fine.
The smallest thing takes up all the screen estate, that's not "fine". Also, drop down lists, on PC, where we have a mouse pointer to click on stuff are heresy.

They can do good UI and they can do ME1's which is one of the worst I've seen, DAO's UI for console was far from top notch either.
Neither ME1 PC (Demiurge) nor DA:O console (Edge of Reality) had a BioWare UI.
I don't hate the game, i preordered it months ago and i'll probably avoid sleeping until i finish it. What kills me is the console UI thought for the use of a pad (hence big giant buttons and screen sized elements), you can't just slap a hotbar in there and call it a "dedicated PC interface". Don't tell me you liked skyrim's default UI, it's the same here.
also, grid is a god damned awful inventory system, there is a very good reason few games still use it.
Every MMO ever uses it and it's mighty fine and usable. The reason few other games still use it is that the majority of today's PC games are friggin' console ports and the devs are lazy/lack time (or don't care) to code a correct ui adapted to keyboard/mouse combo.

Yes, I did.
I swear some people are so dead set on hating the game that they have to invent reasons to justify the hate. The PC UI looks perfectly fine, also, grid is a god damned awful inventory system, there is a very good reason few games still use it.
From Gameplanet AU: . The clunky inventory and a controller-oriented control scheme will annoy some PC gamers. http://www.gameplane...tter 2014-11-12
Well we'll see in 5 days anyway
Navigating through console UI on pc is revolting.
It looks pretty much like the UI in DA:O...am I missing something here?
Yes, I did.
That explains a lot.

Really? Did you try SkyUI and compare? The difference is night and day.
Skyrim's vanilla UI was a prime example of a console-centric UI that was just clunky on PC. Large fonts, lists everywhere, and a huge amount of wasted screen space.
