I'm not going to buy the game until I can play this like the origin DA, I skipped 2 because of it and you've failed to bring it back for 3. Tactical view just isn't good enough, I want to be able to play the entire game in the isometric camera view like I could with DA.

Thanx and goodbye.

Because it isn't the isometric cam, it is the tactical view and it isn't the same thing.

Why?

Seriously, why do you need an isometric view?

Tactical cam functions in much the same way as an isometric camera though.

It allows you to scout ahead, it allows you to see all of the fight and it allows you to see all of the terrain.

It has the added benefit of allowing people who prefer a third person view to play the game in that mode too.

So far it looks like an elegant solution and I'm looking forward to trying it out.

You mean this Tac Cam?

Or maybe, this one?

Yep, no isometric view there.

From all the footage I've seen, you cannot lock the camera to stay in one zoom and pan around and click on characters using the mouse and move them around. The camera is constantly moving up and down like it is in the game world, rather than looking in on it. Also they always have this annoying circle in the middle to issue commands, never using the mouse to move everyone around.

I just want it to function like DA.

The camera is back to how it was in DA:O

I watched that, I watched someone else and it still doesn't function like DA did.

You have this stupid ring in the middle you cannot get rid of, the tactical camera still makes the game 3D, you cannot play it like a 2D isometric game like you could in DA. Also every time they move around the world, they always have to go back into third person mode, you cannot stay in an isometric view 100% of the time.

It doesn't function like DA:O at all.

Also what the hell is up with the healing? It's all automatic potions in those videos, where is the healer? Just seems so shallow.

That was a choice, on the PC you can be in tactical cam all the time OR you can move in & out.

Also what ring in the middle?

This isn't a 2D isometric game, so why it would it be in 2D at any time?

DA:O wasn't a 2D isometric game either, I played it on the PC and even with the isomeric camera I could zoom in and zoom out.

As for healing, there is no healer class in DA:I, instead it focus on defensive spells & abilities like, barrier and guard, and potions.

spamming healing is not deep.

There are a ton of other threads about it that you can read to find out more info

Edit:

DA:I is not DA:O2 and it was never going to be.

Also what ring in the middle?

Every visual of tactical camera shows a "target" at the center of the screen whether or not that's where the mouse is. It makes sense on console as that's your cursor, but it's really stupid on PC as you are using your mouse instead.

I much prefer 3rd person view, though I guess an option doesn't hurt anyone

you can also not move the cam with your mouse. You are only able to move it with WASD and turn it with QE also the cam always jumps back to the selected character...and you can only plan one action (not impressed)

Is there confirmation that you cannot move the camera with the mouse? Because....that sucks.....

I never even noticed that in the streams. Thanks, I had no idea what the OP was talking about  :)

You could only plan one action for each character in DA:O too.

This person has like, no knowledge of the game whatsoever. "What happened to mah healing!??". Seriously, someone hasn't been keeping up with the times...

Also, how the hell do you expect anything to change within a week of release!??

DA:I is shipping 5 days from now as-is. If you want your idea of an isometric camera to be released in an update or something... well, good luck with that. Guess we won't be seeing you on release day ;).

Final tip: demanding the the devs do what YOU want OR ELSE!!1!1! has never worked, and likely never will. As I have said many times:

Inquisition is not a true sequel to Origins. It was never intended to be. In fact, such a thing will likely never exist. If you want a game that plays like Origins, then how about...

You go play Origins? Revolutionary concept, I know.
